What to do if the hymen is imperforate? These treatments can cure it

If the hymen is imperforate, then it is necessary to pay attention to the correct response and solution based on the patient's condition. Surgical treatment can be adopted, and the treatment should be as early as possible. After the operation, attention should be paid to the correct use of antibiotics and the cleanliness of the vulva.

1. Surgical resection

Using the small hole as a base point, make an X-shaped incision all the way to the vaginal wall. If the diaphragm is thin, excess tissue of the diaphragm can be removed in a circular manner. The two layers of mucosa and the base of the incision can be slightly freed and sutured longitudinally. The suture edges are serrated and not in the same plane to prevent annular stenosis in the future.

If the diaphragm is thick, an X-shaped incision should be made on the outer mucosal surface first, with a depth of 1/2 of the thickness of the diaphragm, to separate the mucosal flaps, and then the inner layer should be cut in a cross shape. The four pairs of mucosal flaps should be interlaced and sutured together to prevent further stenosis due to scar contracture after healing. If pregnancy and delivery occur later, it often cannot proceed smoothly and a cesarean section is required to end the delivery.

2. Treatment should not be delayed

If symptoms are discovered after menstruation, emergency surgery should be performed to drain the menstrual blood. Treatment should not be delayed too long to avoid intrauterine blood accumulation or even hematofallopian blood accumulation. Under local anesthesia, make an "X"-shaped incision on the hymen to release the menstrual blood, cut off excess mucosa, and make the hymen into a ring shape. Be careful not to damage the urethral opening. Retained menstrual blood should be discharged as much as possible and the incision should be kept open to avoid secondary infection. Bimanual examination is not performed during the operation to avoid increasing the chance of infection and causing backflow of menstrual blood or rupture of fallopian tube hematoma.

3. Use antibiotics after surgery

Keep the vulva clean, eat liquid food for 3-5 days, and reduce the frequency of bowel movements to prevent contamination of the wound.

To sum up, the above content describes the treatment method of hymen occlusion, which can help women better treat hymen occlusion. Patients with hymen occlusion should also actively cooperate with the doctor's treatment and ensure local cleanliness.
