What are the symptoms of candidal vaginitis? How to prevent candidal vaginitis?

Candidal vaginitis is a type of gynecological inflammation in women, mostly caused by Candida infection, which has a great impact on women's health. So what are the specific symptoms of candidal vaginitis?

Symptoms of vaginal candidiasis

1. The main symptoms of candidal vaginitis are itching and burning pain of the vulva and vagina. Some patients also have frequent urination, dysuria and pain during sexual intercourse. In severe cases, the patient may become restless, upset, and extremely painful.

2. The typical leucorrhea of candidal vaginitis is white, thick, curd-like or tofu-like.

3. Gynecological examination revealed geographic erythema, edema, and scratches on the vulva; edema and erythema on the vagina, and white lumps on the inner side of the labia minora and the vaginal wall. After erasing, the mucosal surface is left red and swollen, and in a few cases, erosion and superficial ulcers can be seen.

4. Some patients do not have the above typical characteristics, but only feel vulvar itching, and the leucorrhea is watery or thin, clear serous exudate. Candida species can also be detected in these patients through laboratory tests.

5. The above symptoms of candidal vaginitis during pregnancy are more obvious, which has a great impact on the physical and mental health of pregnant women.

6. Candidal vaginitis recurs repeatedly, and the affected area spreads from the vulva to the perineum, around the anus, and the femoral genital folds, and even to the inner thighs, which is completely similar to acute or subacute eczema. The mucous membranes near the labia and clitoris are thickened, and the skin surfaces that contact each other become red and eroded. In some cases, it can cause tiny white pustules, and in severe cases, ulcers, vulvar pain and local lymph node enlargement may occur.

How to prevent vaginal candidal infection

1. Drink plenty of water and eat a balanced diet

Eat more protein-rich foods such as fish, meat, eggs, and bean products, and fresh vegetables rich in vitamins, eat iron-containing foods, and avoid spicy, raw, cold, high-fat, and high-sugar foods.

2. Don’t wear tight synthetic underwear

Wear loose, breathable underwear, preferably underwear made of natural fabrics such as cotton, which can protect your health and avoid vulvovaginal candidiasis while also being comfortable.

3. Use sanitary pads properly

When you experience vulvar itching symptoms after using sanitary napkins or sanitary pads, do not continue to use the same brand of sanitary napkins, but switch to another brand. It is recommended that you do not use sanitary pads, and women with heavy secretions should change their underwear frequently.

4. Be careful when using public facilities

When you go out, you should pay more attention to cultivate good hygiene and disease prevention awareness. For example, do not use the hotel's bathtub casually, do not wear long pajamas, and put toilet paper under the flush toilet. In short, we must pay more attention to hygiene.

5. Proper cleaning

Unless there are special circumstances, try to avoid using disinfectant lotions, medicated lotions, etc., and wash the vulva with clean water, and limit the number of times. In addition, it is also important to change and wash your underwear every day.

6. Wash your underwear separately

If your family members or you suffer from tinea pedis or onychomycosis, it is very dangerous to wash socks and underwear in the same washing basin. There is a high possibility of cross infection of Candida albicans. Therefore, underwear must be washed separately.
