Eating these foods for colds is more effective than taking medicine

Colds are common diseases that can occur in any season and at any age, especially in autumn and winter. Medical treatment is not as good as dietary supplements. Many foods in daily life have the effect of preventing and treating colds. So what should you eat when you have a cold?

1. Brown sugar ginger soup

Method: Wash and cut ginger into shreds. Add appropriate amount of water to the pot and put in brown sugar. Stir a few times with a spoon to prevent the brown sugar from sticking to the pot. Cover with lid, cook for 20 minutes and add shredded ginger. Cook for another 5 minutes before serving.

Efficacy: Brown sugar has the effect of nourishing blood and activating blood circulation. Adding it to ginger soup can improve body surface circulation and treat colds. It should be noted that ginger and brown sugar water is only suitable for colds caused by wind and cold or stomach cold after rain, and cannot be used for summer heat colds or wind-heat colds.

2. Garlic and ginger water

Method: Cut 15 grams each of garlic and ginger into slices, add a bowl of water, boil until half a bowl remains, and take it all at once before going to bed. Add appropriate amount of brown sugar when taking.

Efficacy: Treat colds caused by wind and cold.

3. Orange peel drink

Method: Take 30 grams of fresh orange peel or 15 grams of dried orange peel, add 750 ml of water, boil until 500 ml, add appropriate amount of white sugar and drink.

Efficacy: Regulating Qi and resolving phlegm, dispelling wind and unblocking meridians. It can treat colds and coughs.

4. Fangfeng porridge

Preparation method: 15 grams of fangfeng, 2 scallions, 3 slices of ginger, and 50 grams of rice. When the porridge is almost cooked, add the fangfeng, scallion and ginger, and add salt as appropriate.

Efficacy: It can clear away heat and wind, dispel cold and relieve pain. It is suitable for symptoms such as chills and fever, joint pain, nasal congestion, heavy breathing, intestinal rumbling and diarrhea caused by colds.

5. Guizhi Decoction

Preparation method: Boil 10 grams of cinnamon twig, 10 grams of white peony root, 10 grams of ginger, 10 grams of jujube and 6 grams of roasted licorice in water. After taking the medicine, drink a small bowl of hot porridge, cover yourself with a quilt and sleep for about 2 hours.

Efficacy: Can relieve cold symptoms.

6. Radish soup

Preparation method: 25 grams of ginger and 50 grams of white radish. Cut the ginger into shreds and the white radish into slices, put them both in a pot, add appropriate amount of water, boil for 10 to 15 minutes, then add brown sugar and cook for 1 to 2 minutes. Take once a day, hot.

Efficacy: White radish has a good auxiliary therapeutic effect on respiratory diseases such as cough and sputum. White radish soup has no direct therapeutic effect on colds, but it can relieve various discomforts caused by colds, such as nasal congestion and cough.
