Treatment of burn scars, tips for scar removal

Burns are a serious problem. Burns often mean that the high temperature of the flame destroys people's dermis tissue. Removing burn scars is a very difficult task because burn scars are often large in area and most of the scars are obvious. So what are the methods for treating burn scars?

1. Surgical method

1: Scar excision and suture: For some smaller and narrower depressed or stable scars, scar excision and suture or staged suture can be used.

Scar release and local reshaping: Scars with tension, such as cord-like or webbed scars, can be released or removed, and the surrounding normal skin tissue can be cross-transposed and rotated to the defective part of the scar.

Scar excision and free skin grafting: Larger hypertrophic scars can be treated with burn plastic surgery.

2: Commonly used methods in daily life

1: Compression therapy: Using elastic bandages or elastic mesh covers for more than one to three months is effective in preventing and treating hypertrophic scars. In recent years, the scar treatment effect has been better when combined with the application of silicone-surface patches.

2: Exercise therapy, occupational therapy and physical therapy: Standardized exercise plus progressive resistance training for burn victims in the hands and other joints can significantly improve the recovery of joint function.

Topical drug treatment: Commonly used drugs are steroid hormones. Injecting drugs into scars can cause the hyperplastic scars to regress and reduce or eliminate itching. There are also silicone film patches, Liangruibao applicators, etc.

Three: Early burn wounds through scars

After healing, it goes through two stages: the proliferation phase and the remodeling phase. Early scar hyperplasia is an instinctive response of the body to injury and generally reaches its peak in 3-6 months. Afterwards, the scar enters the remodeling period, during which the scar slowly shrinks, congestion decreases, and it gradually softens and flattens.
