38 weeks pregnant, back pain, hard stomach

Generally, pregnant women will experience back pain during pregnancy, which is also a more common condition during pregnancy. However, if the lower back pain persists for a long time, pregnant mothers need to pay special attention. So, what is the reason for a hard stomach and back pain in the late pregnancy?

What is the reason for a hard stomach and back pain in late pregnancy?

1. Infection and others

The causes of premature birth are often infections, including reproductive tract infections and amnionitis. However, urinary tract infection and gastrointestinal infection can also cause the above symptoms. In addition, some pregnant women may also feel tightness, hardness, and pain in the lower abdomen when the fetus moves frequently in the belly. The way to prevent this kind of disease is to let pregnant women sleep on their left side, which can increase the blood volume of the uterus and embryo, prevent or reduce spontaneous uterine contractions. Sexual intercourse is strictly prohibited in the late pregnancy to prevent urinary tract infections. Smokers need to quit smoking and drinking.

2. Premature babies

It refers to the birth of a pregnant woman before the 37th week of pregnancy. Pregnant women generally experience uterine contractions, which are mainly manifested by tightness, hardening, and abdominal pain in the lower abdomen. If there are 2 to 3 uterine contractions every 10 minutes, lasting more than 30 seconds, or accompanied by pink secretions from the vagina, it is a sign of impending labor and you need to go to the hospital for examination and observation. If during the observation process there is progressive dilation of the cervix and the cervical opening is more than 2 cm, premature birth will be inevitable.

3. False labor at the end of pregnancy

It is the irregular, weak, painless contractions that occur during pregnancy. Its characteristic is that it often appears at night and disappears in the morning. This is different from the labor pains in the late pregnancy, which are mainly characterized by short intervals and regular gradual abdominal pain. Most pregnant women may not feel any discomfort, but some pregnant women with sensitive sensory nerves may mistake the normal contraction of the uterus for labor contractions. According to statistics, about 1/3 of the so-called threatened labor cases are not real labors, but false labors.

4. It is also possible that pain is coming

If you feel regular abdominal hardening near the time of delivery (within 3 weeks before the due date, that is, when the pregnancy reaches full term), and this phenomenon occurs repeatedly, it may mean that the real pain (before delivery) is about to come.

Common problems in late pregnancy

1. Avoid the occurrence of risks. Possible accidents in the late pregnancy include placental abruption, amniotic fluid rupture, umbilical cord detachment and other unexpected situations. Therefore, once an accident occurs, you should contact 120 as soon as possible and get emergency help immediately.

2. In order to ensure that there are no accidents to the fetus in the late pregnancy, pregnant women should do a good job of fetal movement detection and strengthen the detection of the fetus's intrauterine health condition.

3. Make good preparations for delivery, choose a suitable and reliable hospital, and be fully prepared for delivery.

4. Be prepared for emergencies. Mainly for rupture of amniotic fluid or other unexpected situations.

5. Be alert to vaginal discharge. If a pregnant woman has vaginal discharge in the late stages of pregnancy, it is best to confirm with a doctor whether it is amniotic fluid or secretions. If it is amniotic fluid of a pregnant woman, you must see a doctor immediately, because once the amniotic fluid of a pregnant woman breaks and the fetus is not delivered in time, it will cause harm to both the fetus and the pregnant woman, so you must pay attention to the condition of vaginal water.

6. Make adequate preparations for pregnant women before delivery. The key is to read some knowledge about childbirth before delivery, including books and videos, so as to avoid being too anxious and helpless during delivery, which will have a negative impact on the delivery. This is very necessary, especially for pregnant women who are having their first child, they should pay more attention to mastering the professional knowledge of childbirth.
