There are many reasons why women have long menstrual periods, which are usually closely related to people's diet and lifestyle habits.

1. Central nervous system-hypothalamic abnormalities

It includes mental stress, such as reactions caused by mental stress such as environmental changes, excessive tension, and mental shock; as well as weight loss, anorexia nervosa, excessive exercise, and drugs that cause dysfunction or inhibition of the hypothalamic secretion of gonadotropin; in addition, congenital diseases or brain malformations and tumors cause abnormal hormone secretion.

2. Pituitary abnormalities

It refers to the abnormal secretion of gonadotropin caused by pituitary lesions. There are congenital factors as well as acquired lesions, such as pituitary tumors.

3. Ovarian abnormalities

Menstrual abnormalities are caused by congenital ovarian dysplasia, ovarian dysfunction or secondary lesions, such as polycystic ovary syndrome, with clinical manifestations of infrequent, irregular menstruation, hirsutism, obesity, etc.; functional ovarian cysts; ovarian tumors, etc., which affect menstruation due to hormonal changes. Then there is the severe pelvic infection, which can also damage the bilateral ovarian tissue, thus affecting menstruation and even causing permanent amenorrhea, among which tuberculosis lesions are the most common.

In fact, many women's menstrual periods are not very regular, which is also called irregular menstruation. Some women also have long menstrual periods. A big reason for this is endocrine disorders, which leads to the timing of menstruation being inaccurate every time. If you want to change, you can start with improving your diet and don't eat too much raw, cold, spicy, or dry food.
