How to check for adnexitis?

Adnexitis is a relatively common inflammatory disease in women. Both married and unmarried women are likely to suffer from such diseases. Adnexitis is an infectious disease, usually accompanied by pelvic diseases. If adnexitis is severe, it can lead to female infertility and induce many complications. Therefore, even if adnexitis is discovered, it is more important. So how to check adnexitis?

Among the female internal reproductive organs, the fallopian tubes and ovaries are called appendages. Adnexitis refers to inflammation of the fallopian tubes and ovaries. However, fallopian tube and oophoritis are often accompanied by parametrial connective tissue inflammation and pelvic peritonitis, and are difficult to distinguish during diagnosis. Among pelvic organ inflammations, salpingitis is the most common. Due to the proximity of anatomical sites, salpingitis, oophoritis and pelvic peritonitis often coexist and affect each other. The main methods for clinically diagnosing adnexitis include: abdominal palpation, B-ultrasound examination, secretion examination, urine routine examination, etc. Let us take a closer look at them.

1. Abdominal palpation: During general gynecological examination, the uterus is found to be retroflexed, with poor mobility and tenderness. If an inflammatory mass is formed, the mass may be felt beside the uterus or behind the uterus during examination, and it will be poorly mobile and tender.

2. Ultrasound examination: Generally speaking, there are no abnormal findings in ultrasound examination, unless there is hydrosalpinx or tubal ovarian cysts are formed, in which case ultrasound examination may reveal a mass.

3. Examination of secretions: In the examination of acute adnexitis, the leucorrhea may be purulent or homogeneous mucous, the adnexa are often tender and painful, and sometimes there may be inflammatory masses with adhesions of the fallopian tubes and ovaries.

4. Urinalysis: Determine whether there are abnormalities in the hormone levels in the body, and also check which bacteria are causing the problem.

Adnexitis can be divided into two types: chronic and acute. Generally, the virus incubation period of chronic adnexitis is longer, and it is relatively difficult to treat. There are many factors that can cause adnexitis, which has a lot to do with women's living and hygiene habits. Sexual life should be moderate, and remember to change your underwear frequently.
