What to do if pregnant women have gastroenteritis

Clinically, it is often found that postpartum women suffer from gastroenteritis. In this case, it is mainly caused by the improper care of the stomach in daily life. Some women will diet to lose weight before getting married, which causes some serious stimulation to the gastrointestinal tract. During pregnancy, due to changes in hormone secretion in pregnant women, symptoms of gastrointestinal diseases will also appear.

Postpartum women with gastroenteritis can first try fasting to allow the gastrointestinal tract to rest and expel the unclean things previously eaten as soon as possible through diarrhea. Afterwards, you can eat a small amount of non-greasy food or fruit such as porridge, white toast, etc. to avoid cold sweats and fainting due to low blood sugar. If severe diarrhea causes a large loss of water and electrolytes, causing you to feel dizzy and weak, supplementing with sports drinks will improve the discomfort. The amount to supplement depends on the severity of the diarrhea.

If severe acute gastroenteritis occurs, you can take appropriate medications according to the doctor's instructions to relieve symptoms. If you have a fever, bloody diarrhea and suspect infectious enteritis, please do not take antidiarrheal drugs on your own to avoid worsening of the condition. From the moment a woman becomes pregnant, her body undergoes a series of changes, gastrointestinal symptoms being one of them. In addition to common gastroenteritis, gastrointestinal problems for pregnant women also include morning sickness, constipation, ulcerative colitis, Crohn's disease and appendicitis.

Changes in the endocrine system of parturients will also affect the normal function of the gastrointestinal system. Clinically, many parturients experience symptoms such as anorexia and nausea. These conditions are mainly caused by stimulation of gastrointestinal function. Once such conditions are found clinically, you should go to the hospital in time and take targeted treatment measures to control the disease to the minimum state.
