Appendicitis is a common gastrointestinal disease in clinical practice, and it has many causes. The main symptom is pain in the lower right abdomen, sometimes accompanied by fever, vomiting and other symptoms. If the early stage of appendicitis is not too serious, it can be treated with infusion and can generally be cured. If appendicitis has already become purulent, surgical treatment is necessary. Generally, appendicitis can occur in both men and women, so people should pay attention to dietary moderation in their daily lives. If you experience symptoms similar to appendicitis, it is recommended that you go to the hospital for a check-up. In other words, when there are abnormalities in your body, you should seek medical attention in a timely manner to avoid delaying the condition. The more common clinical symptoms are: 1. Abdominal pain: Typical acute appendicitis has pain in the upper and middle abdomen or around the umbilicus in the early stage. After a few hours, the abdominal pain shifts and fixes in the right lower abdomen. When the inflammation spreads to the serosa and parietal peritoneum, the pain is fixed in the right lower abdomen, and the original pain in the upper abdomen or around the umbilicus is alleviated or disappears. Therefore, the absence of a typical history of migratory right lower quadrant pain does not exclude acute appendicitis. 2. Simple appendicitis often presents with paroxysmal or persistent bloating and dull pain. Persistent severe pain often indicates purulent or gangrenous appendicitis. Continuous severe pain affecting the middle or lower abdomen or both sides of the lower abdomen is often a sign of gangrenous appendix perforation. 3. Gastrointestinal symptoms The gastrointestinal symptoms of simple appendicitis are not prominent. In the early stages, nausea and vomiting may occur due to reflex gastric spasm. Pelvic appendicitis or gangrenous appendix perforation may cause increased bowel movement frequency. 4. The fever is usually low-grade, without chills, and the temperature of purulent appendicitis generally does not exceed 38°C. High fever is often seen in appendix gangrene, perforation or complicated by peritonitis. 5. Abdominal muscle tension is a sign of appendicitis and is particularly evident when gangrene, perforation and peritonitis occur. However, the abdominal muscles of elderly or obese patients are weaker, so the contralateral abdominal muscles must be checked at the same time for comparison. Among the symptoms of appendicitis in girls, chronic appendicitis is also very common. For the treatment of chronic appendicitis, we should take corresponding treatment methods based on the patient's actual physical condition. The choice of medication is also very important, and medications that the patient is not allergic to should be selected for treatment. If purulent appendicitis is found, you must go to the hospital for early surgical removal. |
