How big is a pregnant woman's belly at three months old?

We all know that a woman's body shape and posture will not recover after pregnancy, and will undergo relatively large changes. It will take about half a year to a year to recover. Therefore, breastfeeding is the best time for women to regain their body shape after childbirth. So, when the baby is three months old, how big is our pregnant belly?

Let’s take a look at the reasons why pregnant women still have a belly after giving birth. During pregnancy, the waist circumference of pregnant women increases by about 50 cm, so after giving birth, the abdomen will feel so stretched and loose. First, the first aspect is rectus abdominis separation. The muscle on the outermost side of the abdomen, which runs from the top to the center of the abdomen, is called the rectus abdominis. The rectus abdominis muscle consists of two halves held together by a thin layer of fibrous tissue called alba. The muscles on both sides of the abdomen run diagonally through the abdomen from different directions, while the lower layer runs straight through the abdomen from one side to the other. Some of these layers of muscles do not cross in the center of the abdomen. There is only one layer of muscle down the center of the abdomen, making this area particularly fleshy and prone to injury.

The second aspect is that during pregnancy, the linea alba begins to soften and start to expand, allowing the two layers of the rectus abdominis muscle to separate to accommodate the growing fetus. This separation of muscles is called rectus abdominis separation. 3-4 days after delivery, you will notice a space about 2-4 fingers wide. As muscle strength begins to increase, this space shrinks to the width of just one finger.

We need to understand that the main reason why pregnant women have a big belly is that they need to constantly replenish their own body nutrition and provide the baby with the most abundant nutrients, so in the end they have too much abdominal fat, which makes the whole body of pregnant women look very fat. However, this is a normal symptom of pregnancy. We should accept this phenomenon. The key is to protect our baby's safety.
