How to treat cervical erosion?

Gynecological diseases are very common among women. There are many types of gynecological diseases, among which cervical erosion is a high-incidence disease. Many people will suffer from cervical erosion. Cervical erosion can be divided into 3 types according to the size of the erosion area. Generally speaking, mild erosion does not require any medication for treatment, but moderate and severe erosion should be treated in time.

Cervical erosion is a common manifestation of chronic cervicitis. Due to the long-term unhealed chronic inflammation, the original squamous epithelium on the surface of the cervix falls off and is covered by the proliferation of columnar epithelium in the cervical canal, which appears red and granular. Due to different degrees of inflammatory stimulation, the columnar epithelium of the cervical mucosa grows slowly, the epithelium is flat and the surface is smooth, which is simple erosion; the columnar epithelium grows quickly and forms glandular hyperplasia, which is adenoid erosion.

If the glands are dilated, it may be a follicular erosion, accompanied by stromal hyperplasia, forming small protrusions, which are unevenly covered with columnar epithelium, forming papillary erosions. Cervical erosion is the most common local feature in the course of chronic metritis. Due to the infiltration of inflammatory secretions, the squamous epithelium of the cervix falls off and is replaced by the columnar epithelium of the cervical canal, which manifests as cervical erosion. Clinically, cervical erosion is divided into grades I, II and III according to the size of the cervical erosion area. The main symptoms are: increased leucorrhea, itchy and painful vulva, pain in the lower abdomen and lumbosacral region, frequent urination or difficulty urinating, and infertility.

There are generally three types of cervical erosion: mild, moderate and severe. If a woman is of childbearing age and has mild cervical erosion but no symptoms, no treatment is required. There are some physiological factors that cause erosion. If it is moderate to severe erosion, it must be diagnosed in a regular hospital. Except for cervical cancer, some physical treatments can be done. Microwave, laser, freezing, and radiofrequency ablation are more commonly used now, and these treatments are more effective. Generally, one treatment may be enough, or two treatments at most.

Generally speaking, cervical erosion is quite harmful. If it is severe or moderate, it may not only lead to infertility, but also cause cancer in severe cases. Therefore, when cervical erosion occurs, you should go to the hospital for a detailed examination in time. It is very necessary to take timely treatment. In addition, you must pay attention to personal hygiene and change your underwear frequently.
