Women experience pain in the lower abdomen and lumbosacral area before, during, or after their menstrual period, which is called dysmenorrhea. It is more common in young women or adolescent girls and is a common gynecological disease. In severe cases, it can even affect work and life. I believe that many girls do not know that dysmenorrhea can be divided into primary and acquired types, which requires careful treatment. Therefore, I will introduce to you methods to relieve primary dysmenorrhea. Most adolescent girls suffer from dysmenorrhea due to primary dysmenorrhea. Because the uterus has not yet fully developed, the internal cervical os or cervical canal is narrow, the uterus is excessively tilted and retroflexed, and the menstrual blood flow is not smooth. The uterus must strengthen its contraction to expel the menstrual blood. The uterine muscles contract spasmodically, causing tissue ischemia and pain. There is another more special situation: the entire endometrium is exfoliated, and the spasmodic contraction caused by poor excretion leads to dysmenorrhea, which is called membranous dysmenorrhea. The main manifestation of primary dysmenorrhea is radiating pain in the lower abdomen or lumbosacral area on the first or second day of menstruation after menarche. Some people start to feel pain one or two days before menstruation. Some patients have nausea, vomiting, frequent urination, pale cold sweat, and must stay in bed to feel relief. The pain of membranous dysmenorrhea is most severe on the 3rd to 4th day of the menstrual period, and the pain disappears immediately after the membrane is discharged. The treatment principle of primary dysmenorrhea is to give equal importance to psychotherapy and drug therapy. During menstruation, pay attention to the combination of work and rest and menstrual hygiene, avoid strenuous activities, mood swings, and keep warm. Appropriate use of analgesics such as compound belladonna tablets, aspirin, etc. Hormone therapy is mainly used for young women who have reached maturity and should not be used on adolescent girls. After thousands of years of medical practice, traditional Chinese medicine has accumulated a wealth of experience in treating dysmenorrhea. Traditional Chinese medicine believes that dysmenorrhea is mainly caused by blood stasis, which blocks the uterus and uterine vessels, causing menstruation to be sluggish and painful. The treatment principle is to regulate qi and activate blood circulation, remove blood stasis and relieve pain. Commonly used medicines include: Xuefu Zhuyu Decoction, Bazhen Decoction, etc. Many girls may have some dysmenorrhea at ordinary times, so you don’t need to worry too much. The only thing you need to pay attention to is to eat more raw and cold food. If your dysmenorrhea is very severe, it is best to avoid eating seafood. You can drink some brown sugar water regularly, which can effectively drive away the cold and warm the uterus, and it is also very helpful for regulating primary dysmenorrhea. |
