Uterine structure and function

Uterine structure and function

Each organ in the body has its own unique function. Some are responsible for maintaining the body's life, such as the heart, lungs, brain and other organs; some, if incomplete, will lead to a certain decrease in the quality of life, such as hands, feet, eyes and so on. So, what is the function of the uterus in a woman's body? Friends who know little about it or are very interested can read on!

1. Menstrual function: It is not easy to have menstruation without a uterus. In fact, menstruation is mainly affected by estrogen. Under the action of estrogen and oestrogen, the uterus wall thickens. In the absence of fertilization, the uterine wall will fall off about two weeks after ovulation, and menstrual bleeding will occur.

The menstrual period can reflect whether a woman is healthy or not. It can promote the body's metabolic activities, promote the body's hematopoiesis, and excrete some toxins out of the body.

2. Reproductive function: Everyone is created in the uterus, which is a symbol of female perfection and has an important function in human reproduction and continuation. Without the uterus, women cannot create a baby by themselves, so they can only rely on the uterus of others to create their own children.

3. Endocrine function: It can not only provide blood for the normal operation of the uterus and ovaries, but also secrete hormone, which can maintain the endocrine balance of the body and reduce the risk of disease caused by endocrine disorders. Therefore, the hormone secreted by the uterus is a very important part of the endocrine function.

4. Immune function: It helps maintain the body's immune function, can reduce the possibility of infection, and during the menstrual period, menstruation can flush the vagina and automatically cleanse, which is very helpful to protect the body from infection.

5. Protect the ovaries: If the uterus is gone, the damage to the ovaries will be great, because without the uterus, the blood supply to the ovaries will be reduced by 50% to 70%, and the blood circulation and endocrine systems in the ovaries will be greatly affected, and may even cause aging of the ovaries.

6. Anti-aging effect: Mainly because of the loss of the uterus, women who have had their uterus removed are much more likely to suffer from severe menopausal symptoms and may enter old age earlier. In addition, women's bodies will also age and aging earlier. Therefore, the uterus has the function of slowing down women's aging.
