Some reasons for the reduction of vaginal discharge

Many female friends have the phenomenon of reduced leucorrhea. Do you know that reduced leucorrhea is normal? Leucorrhea mainly plays the role of moisturizing and lubricating the vagina. Appropriate leucorrhea can maintain the acid-base balance in the female friend's vagina, and will not cause female friends to be infected by bacteria for a long time. So it is abnormal when the leucorrhea is too much or too little. Let us understand it together now.

1. What is leucorrhea

Leucorrhea is a sticky white liquid that flows out of the vagina of women. It is a mixture of secretions from the Bartholin's glands, cervical glands, endometrium, exudate from the vaginal mucosa, and desquamated vaginal epithelial cells. Leucorrhea contains lactobacillus, lysozyme and antibodies, so it has the effect of inhibiting bacterial growth.

II. General Situation

After the menstruation is over, the vaginal discharge is small in volume, white in color, and paste-like. In the middle of the menstrual cycle when the ovaries are about to ovulate, due to the vigorous secretion of the cervical glands, the leucorrhea increases and becomes transparent and slightly sticky like egg white. Two to three days after ovulation, vaginal discharge becomes cloudy, thick and less in quantity. Before and after menstruation, due to pelvic congestion, vaginal mucosal exudate increases and leucorrhea often increases.

3. What will happen if the leucorrhea is reduced?

If the amount of leucorrhea is significantly reduced or absent, symptoms such as vaginal dryness, burning pain, loss of libido, discomfort or difficulty in sexual intercourse may occur. It may also be accompanied by dizziness, tinnitus, soreness and weakness in the lower limbs, irritability, etc. If there is too little leucorrhea for a long time, the vagina's self-defense function will be weakened, and women will be more susceptible to vaginitis.

4. Reasons for reducing leucorrhea

There may be more cases of increased vaginal discharge, but some people may also experience a decrease in vaginal discharge or an extremely small amount. In rare cases, the women are older or have poor ovarian function. In ovarian failure. Under any circumstances, it is possible to cause a decrease in leucorrhea and less secretion. This is possible, for example, before menopause or after menopause, or premature ovarian failure, such as the ovaries of a relatively young woman of 36 or 37 years old no longer functioning, which can cause a decrease in leucorrhea, less secretion, drier appearance, thinner mucous membrane, a burning sensation in the vulva, and discomfort. All of these are possible. If the leucorrhea is reduced and becomes dreg-like: this is typical of vaginal fungus. Symptoms: A large amount of reproductive fungal mycelium mixes with the exfoliated cells of the vaginal epithelium and the leucorrhea, making the leucorrhea sticky and difficult to flow out, resulting in symptoms of reduced leucorrhea. If the amount of leucorrhea decreases after abortion: Since the abortion surgery affects one's immunity and endocrine system, it takes some time to recover. Therefore, new gynecological experts recommend that after an abortion, you should supplement your nutrition and rest carefully to avoid situations such as reduced leucorrhea after an abortion. If the amount of leucorrhea decreases during menopause: This is mainly due to the decline in ovarian function during menopause, a decrease in estrogen levels, thinning of the vaginal epithelium, and a decrease in secretions, which leads to a decrease in leucorrhea.

After reading the above reasons for the normal reduction of leucorrhea, female friends should know that if it is a normal reduction before menstruation, no treatment is needed. However, if the leucorrhea decreases for a long time or there is no leucorrhea, it needs to be taken seriously. Go to the hospital in time to check what causes the reduction in leucorrhea.
