Can warts really grow in the vagina?

Female genital warts is one of the diseases that is very harmful to patients and is highly contagious. Many people unfortunately suffer from vaginal genital warts, which are difficult to cure. Genital warts are very common among sexually transmitted diseases. If not treated in time, they will cause a series of harms to human health. Many people delay their treatment due to lack of understanding of genital warts, so now I will tell you what factors cause genital warts.

1. Sexual behavior: Studies and statistics show that the incidence and recurrence rate of genital warts in people with multiple sexual partners are significantly higher than those with a single sexual partner. Within a certain range, the age of sexual life is also a risk factor for genital warts. The incidence and recurrence rate of those who first had sexual intercourse at the age of less than 19 years old are significantly increased. Male commercial sex workers are a high-risk group for genital warts.

2. Immune function: Data show that the incidence and recurrence rate of genital warts are significantly increased in individuals with low immunity, such as those undergoing kidney transplantation, malignant tumors, diabetes, AIDS, immunosuppressive chemotherapy, and those using glucocorticoids, and the warts are also larger in size.

3. Age and gender: Age is an independent risk factor for genital warts. 80% of genital warts occur in people aged 16 to 34, and the peak age of onset is 20 to 25 years old. The average age of onset for males is 22 years old, and for females is 19 years old; the male to female ratio is approximately 1:1.4. Another study found that being female younger than 25 years old was a risk factor for anogenital warts.

4. Smoking: Because smoking can reduce the body's resistance, it is also an independent risk factor for genital warts. Studies have shown that the incidence of genital warts in smokers is more than three times higher than that in non-smokers, and the incidence increases with the length of smoking and the number of cigarettes smoked per day. At the same time, smoking can promote the recurrence of genital warts.

The above are the causes of vaginal warts. Sexual activity must be prohibited during the period of warts. Even if a condom is worn, warts can come into contact with parts other than the penis and be transmitted to sexual partners. Therefore, patients with vaginal warts should develop good habits. Although the recurrence rate of warts is very high, do not lose confidence.
