Six-month pregnant woman's weight standard

Six-month pregnant woman's weight standard

The process of pregnancy is very hard for pregnant women. In order to ensure the normal development of the fetus, pregnant women need to supplement a lot of nutritious things every day so that the fetus can absorb them effectively. Because of this, the weight of pregnant women is also on the rise. So what should be the weight range of a six-month pregnant woman? Let's find out below.

In the early stage of pregnancy, which is the first three months of pregnancy, the standard weight gain is about 2 kg. In the mid-pregnancy, which is the 3rd to 6th month of pregnancy, and the late pregnancy (7th to 9th month of pregnancy), the weight gain is about 5 kg each. The standard weight gain during the entire pregnancy is about 12 kg. If a pregnant woman gains more than 20 kilograms during the entire pregnancy or her weight exceeds 80 kilograms, she is considered too obese.

First, calculate based on the pregnant woman's pre-pregnancy weight and height: BMI = weight (kg) / height squared (m), then check the range below based on the calculated value to determine how much weight gain is appropriate during the entire pregnancy.

Pre-pregnancy BMI <19.8, total weight gain during pregnancy is preferably 12.5-18 kg;

The BMI before pregnancy is between 19.8 and 26, and the total weight gain during pregnancy is preferably 11.5-16 kg;

The BMI before pregnancy is between 26.1 and 29.9, and the total weight gain during pregnancy is preferably 7-11.5 kg;

It is normal if the pre-pregnancy BMI is > 30 and the total weight gain during pregnancy is greater than 6 kg.

The above data can serve as a reference for expectant mothers. Combined with their own diet and original weight, they can see whether it is within the normal range. Of course, eating and absorption are important factors here. Too much weight gain too quickly may be caused by a sudden increase in food intake. Of course, if the weight gain exceeds 0.5 kg in a week, or there is edema, you should check and consult a doctor in time.
