Low alkaline phosphatase in women

Low alkaline phosphatase in women

Alkaline phosphatase is an essential enzyme in the human body. This type of enzyme is also very necessary for the body. Alkaline phosphatase is distributed in every organ of the body, among which the content of alkaline phosphatase in the liver is the largest, so many people use the value of alkaline phosphatase to judge whether the liver is normal. So what is the reason why women's alkaline phosphatase is slightly lower?

1. Reasons why women have slightly lower alkaline phosphatase

1. Celiac disease, cachexia, and hereditary hypophosphataseuria can cause slightly low alkaline phosphatase.

2. Alkaline phosphatase caused by anemia is slightly low.

3. Malnutrition, cretinism, vitamin C deficiency and scurvy can cause slightly low levels of alkaline phosphatase.

4. Alkaline phosphatase caused by severe chronic nephritis is slightly low.

5. When the virus is infected, the alkaline phosphatase level is slightly lower than the normal range or slightly lower.

2. Reasons why alkaline phosphatase is slightly lower in pregnant women:

1. When pregnant women are not well-nourished or suffer from anemia, their alkaline phosphatase levels will be slightly low. At this time, pregnant women should increase their nutrition and supplement nutrients.

2. Cytoplasmic efflux is the most important physiological factor that causes slightly lower alkaline phosphatase in pregnant women.

3. Pregnant women suffering from severe chronic nephritis or thyroid insufficiency may also experience slightly low alkaline phosphatase during pregnancy.

4. Pregnant women with hepatitis B during the hepatitis stage may also have slightly lower alkaline phosphatase levels.

3. Standard value range of alkaline phosphatase

Alkali phosphatase is one of the basic items of liver function test. In clinical medicine, it is mainly used to detect obstructive jaundice, primary liver cancer, secondary liver cancer, and cholestatic hepatitis. The standard value of alkaline phosphatase is:

Women: 1-12 years old, less than 500U/L; over 15 years old, 40-150U/L.

Men: 1-12 years old, below 500U/L; 12-15 years old, below 750U/L; over 15 years old, 40-150U/L.

If it is less than the normal range of alkaline phosphatase, it means that the alkaline phosphatase is slightly low. This condition often occurs in children and pregnant women.
