Why do women often have vaginal itching?

I believe that every woman, especially married women, has experienced vaginal itching in daily life. The severity of the symptoms may vary. Some may get better after washing with clean water, but the itching symptoms of some patients will worsen day by day. Why are women more likely to have such symptoms? Let the following article reveal the answer to your question.

1. Fungal vaginitis: itching of the vulva and vagina, flushing of the vulva, dregs-like leucorrhea with odor, and scratching can cause eczematous changes of the vulvar dermatitis.

2. Local skin uncleanness: The vulva skin is soaked by menstrual blood, vaginal secretions, and even urine, feces and sweat, which causes chronic inflammation of the local skin and causes vulva itching.

3. Sexual allergy: This is an allergic reaction that occurs during sexual intercourse. They are allergy to semen, condom allergy, and friction allergy.

4. Sexually transmitted diseases: Genital warts mostly occur on the female vaginal wall, cervical opening and vulva, and may also cause foul-smelling leucorrhea. Molluscum contagiosum occurring on the vulva is mostly manifested as round papules with an umbilical-like depression in the center, and may also cause itching of the vulva. Genital herpes is often manifested by the appearance of bright, rice-sized blisters on the urethral opening and vaginal wall, accompanied by local itching.

5. Drug allergy: "Fixed drug rash" caused by sulfonamides or other drugs in women with allergic constitution often occurs at the junction of the skin and mucous membrane of the vulva. In addition to local itching, erosion may also occur. Vulvar itching may also occur if allergic reactions and contact dermatitis occur when using drugs for vaginal washing or vaginal insertion.

6. Vaginal trichomoniasis: Itching of the vulva and vagina, foamy leucorrhea, often accompanied by a special odor, and eczematous changes in the vulva after scratching. A vaginal smear test can be used to distinguish it from the above conditions.

After reading this, patients should be very clear about which cause they have. However, for the sake of accuracy, it is best to hurry to the gynecological clinic for some routine examinations. Only then can targeted medication be used to get rid of the itching symptoms as soon as possible. The editor would like to remind women to maintain good hygiene even after recovery.
