How much does it cost to do an HPV test

HPV testing is mainly a way to detect human papillomavirus infection. HPV infection can cause a variety of papilloma or warts on human skin and mucous membranes. Some types of HPV infection are also potential carcinogens. Therefore, HPV testing is very necessary. Women are very likely to develop cervical cancer after high-risk HPV infection, so HPV testing should be taken seriously.

The cost of HPV testing in each hospital is different. Generally, the price is determined based on the local economic situation. You can go to the local hospital for consultation. You can also use Shenzhen BGI's HPV gene analysis test, and you can take samples yourself at home. This method is simple, non-invasive, painless, and relatively affordable, costing about 300-400 yuan, and is currently a very popular testing method. The accuracy of self-sampling testing is comparable to that of hospital testing. Nearly 100 designated medical institutions in China use the same product for HPV testing; after verification by hundreds of thousands of clinical sample test data, the results of self-sampling and doctor sampling are comparable.

HPV testing has important diagnostic and therapeutic value for genital warts and cervical cancer. It can not only determine whether there is HPV infection, but also combine other combined infection factors in clinical examinations to effectively prevent the occurrence of various symptoms. Currently, there are mainly three testing methods in clinical medicine. One is the test of HPV antigens, which is of great significance for the diagnosis of HPV infection or genital warts. The second is the test for HPV antigens, and antibodies also reflect previous infection with this type of virus. The third is the HPV-DNA test. At present, PCR technology is considered to be the best way to test HPV-DNA and analyze it. It is currently the most commonly used method for diagnosing genital warts and HPV infection.

As long as there are no following conditions after HPV testing, it is within the normal range and there is no need to worry too much: Reproductive HPV includes HPV6, 11, 42, 43, 44 and other types. If they exist after testing, it indicates HPV infection. If not, it means everything is normal and there is no infection. If the reproductive system HPV test shows types such as 16, 18, 31, 33, 35, 39, 45, 51, 52, 56, 58, 59, and 68, it indicates the possibility of cervical lesions and height-ratio lesions in the cervical epithelial cells. If the test results do not show the above types, it means that you are not infected with that type of HPV and you can rest assured.
