Why does a pregnant woman have bloody nasal discharge?

Pregnancy health is one of the more common problems for many women. If there is some infection during pregnancy, the harm should not be underestimated. Recently, some friends have reported that their housewives have bloody nasal discharge, which has caused panic and anxiety in many families. However, due to the lack of knowledge about pregnancy, they seem to be impatient. So what is the matter with pregnant women having bloody nasal discharge?

Bloody nasal discharge may be caused by dry air and dry, fragile nasal mucosa that is prone to bleeding. You can go to the hospital to get some paraffin oil or peppermint oil to apply to your nasal cavity, or you can ask a doctor to check and burn the blood vessels in your nasal cavity to avoid frequent bleeding. A blood test should also be done to check for any blood system diseases. See the ENT doctor to see if there is a deviated nasal septum, etc. You should drink more water, eat more vegetables and avoid pinching your nose.

Causes of bloody nasal discharge

1. Environmental factors

Staying in a dry and dusty environment for a long time can easily irritate the nasal mucosa, thereby damaging the nasal blood vessels and leading to the occurrence of such symptoms.

2. Specific Inflammation

For example, long-term infection with diseases such as tuberculosis, syphilis or malignant granuloma can easily cause dilation of small blood vessels in the nasal cavity and erosion of the nasal mucosa, leading to the appearance of this symptom.

3. Nonspecific Inflammation

Acute rhinitis, atrophic rhinitis or other non-specific inflammation of the nose is also a common cause of bloody nasal discharge.

4. Nasopharyngeal cancer

This disease is very common among us, ranking first among all head and neck malignant tumors. It is quite common in the age group around 40 to 60 years old, and more common in male friends. When suffering from nasopharyngeal cancer, the main symptoms of patients are blowing bloody nose, or sucking blood in the snot, which is more common in the morning. Because the disease does not occur frequently and the amount of bleeding is small, it is easily ignored by most patients. This requires patients to pay more attention.

Generally, benign tumors mainly manifest as blood in the nasal discharge, but the amount of bleeding is not large. Therefore, we would like to remind all pregnant friends that if any abnormal problems occur. It is best to be more vigilant and seek medical attention in time.
