Reasons for red vaginal discharge in pregnant women

Pregnant women are more likely to develop some gynecological diseases after pregnancy because their bodies are burning with those diseases. For example, the common red vaginal discharge of pregnant women is also very normal. This is caused by the invasion of bacteria and lack of attention to hygiene. So let us understand what to do next?

Generally speaking, when a woman is pregnant, the amount of vaginal discharge will increase, which is normal. However, if a pregnant woman's leucorrhea is red, she should be alert to whether it is a threatened abortion. The causes may be luteal insufficiency, abnormal fetal development, maternal and environmental influences, etc. If bleeding persists, an ultrasound examination should be performed to understand the condition of the fetus. If the fetus develops normally, the fetus can be treated to preserve the pregnancy. However, if there is heavy bleeding accompanied by the discharge of tissue-like material, it means miscarriage and a uterine curettage is required. A small amount of vaginal bleeding in early pregnancy should rule out an ectopic pregnancy. Under normal circumstances, a gestational sac can be seen under ultrasound at around 40 days of pregnancy. If no gestational sac is seen in the uterus after around 40 days and there is vaginal bleeding, one should be alert to the possibility of an ectopic pregnancy. Ectopic pregnancies require hospitalization. If you have a small amount of bloody leucorrhea in the early stages of pregnancy, you should also pay attention to rule out cervical lesions. Cervical cancer, cervical erosion, etc. may all have this symptom. You should go to the hospital for examination and do a cervical smear cytology test.

Leucorrhea is a normal physiological characteristic of women, and it has periodic changes just like menstruation. Normally, leucorrhea is milky white and colorless, but sometimes it can appear red. So why does leucorrhea turn red? It depends on your situation. It is a type of bloody leucorrhea, which can be divided into physiological and pathological.

1. Physiological bleeding: Sometimes due to the placement of an intrauterine contraceptive ring, some blood may be mixed in the leucorrhea. In addition, some women will experience ovulation bleeding during the ovulation period, which is mid-menstrual bleeding. It refers to a small amount of bleeding between two normal menstrual periods, which may be accompanied by varying degrees of lower abdominal pain. If the symptoms are mild at this time, no treatment is required. If the bleeding is heavy or affects fertility, medication can be used for treatment.

2. Pathological bleeding: Common diseases that cause bloody leucorrhea include cervical cancer, endometrial cancer and other malignant tumors. Benign lesions such as cervical polyps, cervical erosion, submucosal myoma, dysfunctional uterine bleeding, urethral caruncle, senile vaginitis, etc. can also cause bloody leucorrhea. A small amount of bloody leucorrhea caused by intrauterine contraceptive device is also common.

From the above article, we learned that pregnant women have leucorrhea and red palms. You can choose some methods to treat it. Especially after pregnancy, you need to pay attention to your physical health. You should eat more nutritious food and ensure your hygiene.
