What causes bleeding after salpingography?

What causes bleeding after salpingography?

In today's society, with the advancement of science and technology, more and more problems have been effectively solved. For example, when faced with problems such as infertility, most women now choose hysterosalpingography. However, after the operation, post-salpingography bleeding may occur, leaving them at a loss. So what exactly is post-salpingography bleeding? Let us learn about it today:

Imaging process

The first step is to dilate the vagina and expose the cervix. The cervix and fornix are disinfected with iohexol, the cervical catheter is filled with iohexol, the air in the tube is removed, the cervical canal is inserted along the direction of the uterine cavity, and the cervical clamp is tightened so that the conical rubber head of the catheter fits tightly against the cervix to prevent the drug from flowing out.

The second step is that during the hysterosalpingography examination, the patient lies on his back on the X-ray machine operating platform, routinely disinfects the vulva and vagina, then lays a sterile towel, and then checks the position and size of the uterus.

The third step is to observe the contrast agent flowing through the uterine cavity under X-ray fluoroscopy, and slowly inject iodized oil under fluorescent fluoroscopy. The first injection volume is 3~5ml. Observe its entry into the uterus and flow through the fallopian tube. At this time, a picture will be taken and then iodized oil will continue to be pushed in. Continue taking pictures after 5-10 minutes.

Step 4. Take another picture at the same location one day later, and then observe whether there is free iohexol in the abdominal cavity. If both fallopian tubes are blocked, there will be no iodized oil in the pelvic cavity. If there is only a small amount of iohexol, it can be considered that the fallopian tubes are obstructed.

Although hysterosalpingography causes little harm to women, it is actually an external stimulus to the endometrium of women, which can cause vaginal bleeding in women. Vaginal bleeding is a normal phenomenon after hysterosalpingography. It will usually disappear on its own within 7 days and will not cause any harm to the female body. Bleeding after hysterosalpingography is not an abnormal condition. It usually stops automatically in about 3 to 7 days. When faced with such a phenomenon, patients generally do not need to take any treatment measures, let alone take hemostatic drugs, because this is a normal phenomenon. If it exceeds 7 days, the following situations may occur: infection during angiography, serious endocrine disorder. In this case, it is recommended to go to the hospital for examination in time.

The side effect of hysterosalpingography is vaginal bleeding after the procedure. This is a stimulation to the endometrium during hysterosalpingography, which causes vaginal bleeding. It is a normal postoperative phenomenon and has no effect on the body. It does not require any treatment, let alone the use of hemostatic drugs. Generally, this kind of bleeding will stop naturally within 7 days. What are the situations of bleeding after salpingography?

1. Endocrine disorders and irregular menstruation.

2. Infection before angiography

3. Infection occurred during angiography.

4. Endometrial diseases.

It should be noted that if the bleeding after hysterosalpingography is normal and does not exceed 7 days, it will stop naturally. If the bleeding lasts for more than 7 days, you should go to the hospital to find out the cause and take appropriate measures based on the cause.

After the above introduction, I believe everyone has understood the related issues of hysterosalpingography bleeding. Therefore, if you undergo related surgeries in your daily life, you must pay attention to care. Prevent unnecessary harm to your body.
