What does ultrasound show as anterior uterus?

Pregnancy is a major event in a woman's life. During pregnancy, you need to go to the hospital for various examinations. B-ultrasound is one of them, which can clearly see the position of the fetus and the development status of the fetus at different stages. The doctor will use professional terms to tell us the position of the fetus. For example, if an ultrasound shows an anterior uterus, what does this mean?

[Anterior uterus]

It is generally believed that anterior uterus is a normal position, not a disease, has nothing to do with dysmenorrhea, and has no effect on sexual life.

It means that the cervix is pointing downward toward the posterior fornix of the vagina. It is located lower in the body, so after sexual intercourse, semen tends to concentrate there, and the cervix is easily soaked in semen, which is conducive to sperm passing through the cervical opening to meet the egg and conceive. Therefore, the chances of pregnancy are greater with an anterior uterus.

B-ultrasound examination can tell whether the uterus is anterior or posterior.

【Normal value of anteverted uterus】

The normal position of the uterus is generally forward-flexed and anteflexed, forming an inverted pear shape.

A normal uterus is 7-8CM long, 4-5CM wide, 2-3CM thick, and has a uterine cavity capacity of about 5mL.

Both anterior and posterior uterus are normal phenomena, just like a person's height. So don't be too nervous.

1. Anterior position of uterus: easily leads to anterior position of the placenta. But the chance of pregnancy is high. This is a normal body position, and most women have an anterior uterus. (Placenta previa, the normal attachment of the placenta is to the posterior wall, anterior wall or lateral wall of the uterine body. After 28 weeks of pregnancy, the placenta is attached to the lower segment of the uterus, and even the lower edge of the placenta reaches or covers the internal cervical os, and its position is lower than the fetal presenting part)

2. Retroverted uterus: The chance of pregnancy with retroverted uterus is relatively low and does not affect pregnancy. There will be symptoms such as excessive menstruation, back pain, excessive vaginal discharge, and discomfort during sexual intercourse. No treatment is required. However, if the patient has a retroverted uterus, the cervix will be upturned after 3 months of pregnancy.

Ultrasound showed anterior uterus, which means the fetus is located in front of the placenta, which is a normal phenomenon. Many pregnant women will be nervous, wondering why others are in the posterior position while they are in the anterior position. This is caused by different physical conditions. It can be changed through physical exercise. It is not a disease and does not require drug treatment.
