The role of fallopian tube embolization

The role of fallopian tube embolization

As the pace of work and life continues to accelerate, more and more women are particularly prone to infertility, which often has a certain impact on the physical and mental health of many families and women. However, in vitro fertilization, as an effective method to improve female infertility, has been liked by many people. However, many women often suffer from infertility due to hydrosalpinx, which has a certain impact on the success rate of in vitro fertilization. Therefore, they have to resort to fallopian tube embolization. However, many people know little about it and don’t know what its role and effect are. Let’s learn about the role of fallopian tube embolization.

The role of fallopian tube embolization

Hydrosalpinx has a great impact on the success rate of in vitro fertilization. This issue has received attention from people in the reproductive medicine field. Research results show that the presence of hydrosalpinx will significantly reduce the pregnancy rate of in vitro fertilization; those with hydrosalpinx will have their in vitro fertilization pregnancy rate reduced by at least 50%, and their spontaneous abortion rate increased by 2 times. How to improve the pregnancy rate of in vitro fertilization (IVF) and the treatment of hydrosalpinx before surgery becomes the key. Now most clinicians treat hydrosalpinx before doing IVF. The main methods used are laparoscopic salpingectomy, ligation, fenestration or ultrasonic aspiration. The first two methods have risks of surgery and anesthesia, and are prone to damage the blood vessels of the ovaries, affecting the blood supply to the ovaries. Studies have shown that during the in vitro fertilization process, the ovary on the side where the fallopian tube was removed has a reduced responsiveness to ovulation-inducing treatment. The latter two methods are prone to recurrence of hydrosalpinx after surgery, and the possibility of tubal pregnancy is greater.

Interventional embolization treatment for hydrosalpinx can avoid the risks of surgery and anesthesia. More importantly, it can avoid the impact on ovarian blood supply and prevent the recurrence of tubal pregnancy and hydrosalpinx. As a result, the success rate of in vitro fertilization for patients with hydrosalpinx can be significantly increased. The operation is safe, the patient suffers little pain, and the postoperative recovery period is short. It is a very effective treatment method.

The fallopian tube embolization procedure is mainly divided into the following steps:

1. Perform hysterosalpingography to determine the shape of the fallopian tube and the location of the obstruction

2. Send the microcatheter to the interstitial part or isthmus of the fallopian tube and accurately release the micro platinum coil

3. Angiography to observe the effect of embolization

4. End of the operation

With the continuous progress of medical industry, many diseases can be cured very well. The above is an introduction to the effect of fallopian tube embolization. After understanding it, I know that fallopian tube embolization has a certain help on the success rate of in vitro fertilization. In addition, in order to avoid such symptoms, women must maintain good living habits in their daily lives. If there are abnormal leucorrhea, they must go to the hospital for examination and treatment.
