Laser treatment of cervical erosion

Laser treatment of cervical erosion

I believe everyone is familiar with the disease of cervical erosion. Cervical erosion is a common gynecological disease. The occurrence of cervical erosion will not only bring discomfort to patients but also bring great psychological pressure to patients. Therefore, we recommend that female friends must pay attention to the disease of cervical erosion in daily life. Once the symptoms of cervical erosion appear, timely treatment should be sought. Below we introduce the process of laser treatment of cervical erosion.

Cervical erosion is mostly a manifestation of chronic cervicitis, but the degree of cervical erosion in patients is more serious, especially when cervical erosion develops into severe stage, it is more harmful to women, not only causing endometritis and pelvic inflammatory disease, secondary female infertility, and even secondary cancer. Therefore, it is very important to find an effective method to treat cervical erosion. There are many methods to treat cervical erosion, such as electrocautery, laser, etc. The mechanism and process of laser treatment are as follows:

The principle of laser treatment for cervical erosion is: using the thermal coagulation of laser to destroy the function of the diseased tissue, turning the target tissue into a dry, solid necrotic coagulation; the laser carbonizes the eroded tissue to form a scab, and after the scab falls off, the wound surface is covered with new squamous epithelium, thereby healing the erosion surface; at the same time, the thermal coagulation sealing of the laser has anti-inflammatory, analgesic and hemostatic effects.

When women with cervical erosion receive laser treatment, the treatment is usually done 3 to 7 days after the menstruation is over. The patient takes the lithotomy position, and after disinfection and laying a drape, the vagina is gently opened with a vaginal speculum to fully expose the cervix and fully clear cervical secretions. After disinfection again, a laser treatment device is used to start from the outer edge of the eroded surface and burn in a circular manner from the outside to the inside to the cervical opening. If bleeding is encountered, the cervix can be thermally coagulated to stop bleeding over a longer distance. It should be noted that the treatment range should exceed the erosion surface by 2mm; at the same time, the operation should avoid burning the surrounding normal cervical tissue to avoid leaving scars and causing infertility.

In the above article, we introduced a common gynecological disease, which is cervical erosion. We know that cervical erosion is very harmful, so female friends should pay attention to this disease. The above article introduces the process of laser treatment of cervical erosion in detail.
