What are the complications of cesarean section?

Nowadays, many women choose cesarean section when giving birth. Although this method of delivery is not laborious, it will also cause some complications. There are many complications of cesarean section. Therefore, when women choose this method of delivery, they need to first understand all aspects of it so that the baby will not be harmed to their own health after delivery. So what are its complications?

Complications of Caesarean Section:

1. Urinary system complications: The chance of urinary tract infection after cesarean section is higher, because a catheter needs to be inserted during cesarean section, which can easily cause urinary tract infection. Pregnant women can determine whether they have urinary system complications through urine tests or urine bacterial cultures.

2. Sepsis: A very small number of cases of endometritis or incision infection may lead to sepsis after cesarean section, causing pelvic thrombophlebitis. The disease usually occurs on the right side of the female pelvis.

3. Complications of incision: If the incision dehiscence causes infection, it will affect the healing of the wound. If a pregnant woman suffers from diabetes, malnutrition, anemia, or has received radiation therapy before, it will affect the healing of the incision. If the wound does not heal well, it will affect dehiscence.

4. Endometritis is a common complication of cesarean section. Endometritis is usually caused by prolonged labor, frequent vaginal examinations, anemia in pregnant women, or excessive bleeding during surgery, which can lead to inflammation.

5. Gastrointestinal complications: Cesarean section requires general anesthesia, which will affect the intestinal peristalsis function and cause intestinal paralysis, abdominal distension, nausea, vomiting and other symptoms. Usually, the patient can recover within 24 hours after delivery, but if the symptoms persist for a long time, they need to be treated in time.

The above are all complications of cesarean section. These complications are very harmful to women's bodies. If you have these diseases, you must seek treatment in time, which is also very helpful in alleviating the condition. After a cesarean section, women also need long-term physical conditioning, which will be very helpful for the recovery of all aspects of the body.
