The lumens of the dilated and non-dilated parts of the fallopian tube are still connected, so patients often have vaginal discharge. The muscular layer of the tube wall atrophies or is completely replaced by fibrous connective tissue, and the epithelium is compressed and becomes cubic or flat. The mucosal folds are reduced, and a small amount of lymphocyte infiltration is present in the lamina propria.

Causes

(1) Failure to pay attention to menstrual hygiene, sexual intercourse during menstruation or unclean sexual intercourse, etc. are the main culprits of fallopian tube disease.

(2) While intrauterine devices are widely used, fallopian tube disease is caused by patients not paying attention to personal hygiene or not performing surgical procedures strictly.
