The examinations before surgery are relatively different according to the patient's surgical purpose and cannot be generalized, but routine physical examinations must include these contents. Routine blood tests mainly look at the status of hemoglobin and the status of platelet and white blood cell counts. Biochemical examination: Biochemical examination mainly looks at the patient's positive ion and nutritional status. Corresponding immunity tests should be conducted to check whether the patient has infectious diseases such as hepatitis and AIDS. Electrocardiogram, lung CT and ultrasound echocardiography, and further examination of the heart if necessary, are basic and are part of general surgical procedures. Of course, if it is a lung surgery, a corresponding CT scan will be performed for abdominal surgery. Each patient is different, and the attending physician will make the final decision on which tests to use to confirm the pre-operative diagnosis. The basic examinations before surgery are to facilitate the successful and complete completion of the surgery. It mainly includes the examination of the functions of key internal organs, such as heart, lung, liver and kidney functions. If there is a chronic lung disease, there are varying degrees of dyspnea or high carbon dioxide and low oxygen pressure, for surgery under general anesthesia, the patient's ability to withstand surgery should be carefully assessed. There are also examinations of key medical records. For example, if the patient has diabetes, blood sugar should be controlled below 8-10Mmol before surgery. If there is hypertension, it should be controlled below 180/90MmHg. Other examinations include various heart function assessments, electrocardiograms, lung X-rays, ventilation function tests, blood gas analysis, liver and kidney function tests, basic biochemistry, blood and urine tests, and special ones require glucose tolerance tests. In addition, infectious disease tests are required, including screening for five items of hepatitis B, hepatitis A, syphilis, HIV, etc. Before cervical polyp surgery, female secretions and cervical secretions must be examined because the surgery is performed on the cervix and the medical equipment must pass through the vagina. If the environment inside the vagina is not good or there is inflammation, it cannot be done. A routine blood test and four coagulation tests are also required. The routine blood test is to see if the body has any infection, and the four coagulation tests are to see how the patient's blood coagulation is. |
