Symptoms of vulvar psoriasis

Symptoms of vulvar psoriasis

The position of the vulva is quite special, and it is difficult to maintain good hygiene of the vulva. The skin of the vulva never sees the sunlight all year round, so vulva skin diseases are relatively common. Dermatitis, eczema, and psoriasis often occur. Skin diseases are one of the more difficult diseases to treat. There is an old saying in Chinese medicine: If you can't cure paralysis internally, you can't cure ringworm externally. Nowadays, there are often small advertisements for psoriasis treatments on the streets. Many patients blindly believe them and their condition gets worse.

Vulvar itching is common in women. Many women cannot tell what disease it is. The vulva is a special area, and many patients find it difficult to talk about it and are embarrassed to go to the hospital for treatment. It is necessary for everyone to understand the symptoms of vulvar psoriasis and treat it symptomatically.

Patients have varying degrees of vulvar itching, burning sensation or extreme discomfort. Initially, inflammatory flat papules of varying sizes are seen on the mons pubis, labia, etc., which gradually grow into light red, guttate, coin-shaped, map-shaped, and annular maculopapules. The surface of the papules is covered with multiple layers of silvery-white scales, surrounded by a slight red halo. Gently remove the epidermal scales to reveal a translucent film at the base (film phenomenon). The appearance of small bleeding spots after peeling off this film is its characteristic feature. Psoriasis lesions on the vulva usually coexist with lesions on the scalp, trunk, extensor side of the limbs, etc. Only a few patients suffer from it alone. Psoriasis, commonly known as psoriasis, is a chronic erythematous and scaly skin disease with characteristic lesions. It has a long course and is prone to relapse. A few patients may not relapse after being cured.

Psoriasis is divided into progressive phase, stable phase and regressive phase.

(1) Progressive stage: New rashes continue to appear, old lesions continue to expand, scales accumulate, inflammation is obvious, and there is an inflammatory red halo around the lesions. At this time, there is a homotypic reaction.

(2) Stable stage: The condition remains dormant, with basically no new rashes appearing and old rashes not disappearing.

(3) Regression stage: The inflammatory infiltration gradually subsides, the scales decrease, the redness fades, and the lesions even disappear, leaving only hypopigmented or hyperpigmented spots.

Psoriasis is a very painful disease, and patients often experience unbearable itching.

Once female friends suffer from vulvar psoriasis, they must actively seek treatment and go to a regular hospital to receive regular treatment. Do not be afraid to see a doctor or believe in street advertisements and seek medical treatment indiscriminately. This will not only waste everyone's money, but also delay the disease. Good health is the most important thing.
