Ten warning signs of candidal vaginitis

Ten warning signs of candidal vaginitis

Alert 1: Use of contraceptive pills

Some women are prone to recurrence of candidal vaginitis after using birth control pills because the estrogen in birth control pills promotes the production of fungal hyphae, causing the fungi to further invade the vaginal tissue.

Alert 2: Tight synthetic underwear

Tight-fitting synthetic underwear has many disadvantages. It can increase the local temperature and humidity of the vagina. The stuffy and hot environment is the best living environment for mold to multiply in large numbers.

Alert 3: Pregnancy

During pregnancy, the body's immunity decreases, the level of sex hormones is high, the glycogen in the vaginal tissue increases, and the acidity increases, which is conducive to the growth of fungi. In addition, the increased sex hormones during pregnancy also promote the production of hyphae by fungi. The hyphae are the "claws" of fungi that can help fungi invade vaginal tissue and cause vaginitis.

Alert 4: Public Utilities

Some women may get candidal vaginitis while wearing short skirts while riding long-distance buses. Does it sound unbelievable? But there are indeed such cases. Some facilities in public places, such as seat cushions on buses, flush toilets and bathtubs in hotels, and beds with poor hygiene, may hide a large number of mold, which can cause candidal vaginitis after contact.

Alert 5: Excessive Cleaning

Improper cleaning and cleaning obsession are also hidden dangers of mold infection. Frequent use of gynecological cleaning disinfectants, disinfected sanitary pads, etc., destroys the microenvironment of the vagina itself, causing imbalance, reducing the vagina's self-antibacterial ability, making it easier for fungi to invade and cause disease.

Alert 6: Tinea pedis, onychomycosis, etc.

Fungi can multiply in large numbers in the vagina, skin surface, gastrointestinal tract, nail crevices and other places, causing candidal vaginitis, skin fungal diseases, gastroenteritis, onychomycosis and other diseases. The fungi parasitic in these parts can also be transmitted to each other. For example, tinea pedis, onychomycosis and fungi in the gastrointestinal tract may be caused by repeated vaginitis infections.

Alert 7: Diabetes

Diabetic patients have low body resistance, high vaginal glycogen content, and acidic pH value, which makes female diabetic patients easily harmed by fungi and develop candidal vaginitis.

Alert 8: Misuse of antibiotics

Improper use of antibiotics or abuse of broad-spectrum antibiotics may lead to serious consequences, because while antibiotics kill pathogenic bacteria, they also inhibit some beneficial bacteria. Unsuppressed and foreign drug-resistant bacteria will take the opportunity to multiply in large numbers, including mold.

Alert 9: Your Him

The fungi in the vagina can also be transmitted to the male reproductive tract. When the fungi parasitize in the male reproductive tract, since the male reproductive tract is relatively dry and does not have the acidic environment that fungi like, there will be no obvious symptoms of fungal infection. However, the fungal spores in the male body can be transmitted to the female again, causing direct infection due to sexual intercourse. This may be the reason for the recurrence of candidal vaginitis in women.

Alert 10: Washing Machine

Experts from the Osaka Institute of Environmental Science in Japan investigated 153 washing machines and the results were not optimistic: mold was hidden in almost every washing tub! Most of the mold found on clothes also came from the washing machine tub, and the more frequently the washing machine was used, the more mold there was.
