What should I do if I have an ectopic pregnancy?

Having a baby of their own is believed to be the wish of many parents. Before preparing for pregnancy, they should quit smoking and drinking, exercise, improve their physical fitness, and then hope to conceive a healthy baby. However, some people are tragically diagnosed with ectopic pregnancy during pregnancy check-up. I have no idea what ectopic pregnancy is and how to deal with it?

1. What is ectopic pregnancy?

The whole process of abnormal pregnancy in which the fertilized egg implants, grows and develops outside the uterus. Also called "ectopic pregnancy". The most common type of pregnancy is tubal pregnancy. The cause of the disease is often due to inflammation of the fallopian tube lumen or its surrounding area, which causes poor lumen smoothness, hinders the normal functioning of the fertilized eggs, causes them to be retained in the fallopian tubes, the embryos to implant and grow, and causes miscarriage or rupture of the fallopian tube pregnancy. There are usually no obvious symptoms before miscarriage or rupture, and there may also be amenorrhea, abdominal pain, and a small amount of vaginal bleeding. After rupture, the main symptoms are subacute severe abdominal pain, recurrent attacks, vaginal bleeding, and even shock.

2. Detection and treatment of ectopic pregnancy

B-type color ultrasound examination is particularly common in the diagnosis of ectopic pregnancy, and intravaginal B-ultrasound examination is more accurate than abdominal B-ultrasound examination. In most cases, early ectopic pregnancy can be diagnosed after medical history, gynecological examination, blood β-HCG measurement, and B-ultrasound examination. However, for some cases that are more difficult to diagnose, examination under laparoscopic surgery can confirm the diagnosis in time and can be treated with surgery at the same time.

There are many treatments for ectopic pregnancy, such as laparoscopy, drug therapy, and laparotomy. The actual method to be used depends on the health status of the pregnant woman, the size of the ectopic pregnancy, and other conditions. Among them, conservative treatment with drugs is mainly used in the early stages of ectopic pregnancy, that is, when the fallopian tubes on both sides have not yet ruptured. This method causes little harm to the patient and the pregnant woman's body recovers quickly. Bilateral fallopian tube fenestration and ventilation suture is used for ectopic pregnancy in which the bilateral fallopian tubes are not ruptured or the bilateral fallopian tube ruptures are not large. Through laparoscopy, the bilateral fallopian tubes are cut to facilitate the placement of test tube embryos, and then sutures are sutured to maintain the function of the bilateral fallopian tubes. It is the best treatment method for ectopic pregnancy currently advocated.
