Women who hold their urine for a long time may become infertile

I believe that many people have the habit of holding urine. Sometimes, because they have something to do, they hold it in and don’t go to the toilet temporarily. In fact, this is not good for the body, especially for female friends. If women hold urine for a long time, it is easy to cause infertility.

There are many dangers for women to hold urine

Because women have a more complex structure of organs in their abdominal cavity, their urinary systems are more susceptible to bacterial invasion than men. Holding urine will not only affect bladder function and cause urinary tract infection, but also cause symptoms such as frequent urination, hematuria, difficulty urinating, burning urine, a feeling of residual urine, lower abdominal discomfort or pain, etc.

Frequent holding of urine can easily lead to urinary incontinence

Unlike men, women do not have two internal and external sphincters. They only rely on a single sphincter to hold urine. Therefore, if they hold urine for a long time, the sphincter will become fatigued and weak, leading to urinary incontinence.

In addition, holding urine can cause long-term damage to the bladder detrusor muscle and accelerate aging. Especially for some elderly women, who have relatively poor resistance, holding urine causes the bladder to be highly full, which reduces the ability of the bladder mucosa to resist infection and makes urinary tract inflammation very likely to occur.

Women who hold their urine for a long time may become infertile

Because the female internal reproductive organs and the bladder "live together" in the pelvic cavity and have a "close" relationship, the uterus is located behind the bladder. Holding urine fills the bladder, and the full bladder presses on the uterus, causing it to tilt backward. If you often hold your urine, the retroverted uterus will be difficult to reposition. When the bladder severely compresses the uterus, it will hinder the outflow of menstrual blood and can cause severe dysmenorrhea symptoms. If the compressed uterus "squeezes" the nerve plexus in front of the sacrum, it can cause lumbar pain, and in severe cases, it can cause infertility.

Drink plenty of water and urinate frequently

Here I would like to remind all female friends not to wait until you are thirsty to drink water, especially women who exert a lot of physical energy. The diet should be light. If you eat greasy or salty food, you should drink two more glasses of water. Hot tea is the best drink in cold weather. Drink two glasses of water after getting up and before going to bed. No matter how cold it is, you should drink more water to allow urine to be excreted in time and avoid bacterial growth in the urinary tract.

The most effective way to prevent urinary tract infection is to drink plenty of water. Women should also develop the habit of urinating every two hours or so. You can drink plain water or drinks containing vitamin C. Studies have shown that regularly drinking beverages containing vitamin C, such as orange juice, kiwi juice, etc., can increase the acidity of women's urine and help women prevent urinary tract infections.
