Symptoms of luteal insufficiency

Symptoms of luteal insufficiency

Among the vast majority of infertile women, a large proportion of patients have their disease caused by luteal insufficiency. If a woman has luteal insufficiency, the harm is very serious. The most common thing is that the menstruation starts abnormally and the estrogen secretion in the body cannot reach the normal standard. For women of childbearing age, if the luteal insufficiency occurs, the harm is very serious.

In patients with luteal insufficiency, endocrine disorders begin to occur, leading to the secretion of estrogen, which in turn prevents the corpus luteum in the female body from developing normally, thus creating a vicious cycle.

Luteal insufficiency refers to the insufficient endocrine function of the luteum formed after ovarian ovulation, resulting in insufficient secretion of progesterone, insufficient secretion and conversion of the endometrium, ovulatory dysfunctional uterine bleeding, and is not conducive to the implantation of the fertilized egg, which can lead to infertility or habitual abortion. Patients with luteal insufficiency usually have no discomfort symptoms. If clinical manifestations occur, they are mainly shortened menstrual cycles, frequent menstruation, infertility or miscarriage, and miscarriage mainly occurs in the early pregnancy.

The diagnosis of luteal insufficiency can be based on basal body temperature, blood progesterone measurement and endometrial biopsy. The basal body temperature of this type of patient is biphasic, but it rises and falls slowly, with an increase of less than 0.3°C, and lasts only 9 to 10 days, and sometimes the follicular phase is prolonged. On the 8th day after the basal body temperature rose, the blood progesterone level was lower than 10 ng/ml. In the past, endometrial biopsy was generally performed on the 21st to 22nd day of menstruation, and the diagnostic standard was an endometrial phase that was more than 2 days less than normal. It is now found that some patients clinically diagnosed with luteal insufficiency are diagnosed with unruptured follicle syndrome through laparoscopic examination. Therefore, the diagnosis of this disease should be combined with B-ultrasound and laparoscopy.

If a woman has luteal insufficiency, the harm is very serious. The most common thing is that it will inhibit the secretion of sex hormones in the female body, causing the female follicles to not develop normally. It will also cause other complications, such as endometriosis, and severe cases can cause female infertility. Therefore, patients with luteal insufficiency should be treated as soon as possible.
