A series of popular science knowledge on the prevention and treatment of "Emphysalis" - Eliminate "Emphysalis" and protect the health of mothers and babies!

"Aimee Yi" is the abbreviation of "AIDS (HIV), syphilis (Syphilis) and hepatitis B (HBV)", which are collectively referred to as the "three diseases". They can all be transmitted from mother to child to cause fetal infection, and mother-to-child transmission is the main way for children to be infected with AIDS, syphilis and hepatitis B. However, with the help of scientific intervention methods during pregnancy, the spread of "Aimee Yi" can be effectively blocked. Eliminating the mother-to-child transmission of AIDS, syphilis and hepatitis B is of great significance to improving the quality of the newborn population and promoting the health of women and children.

The dangers of infection with "Aime B" during pregnancy

HIV, syphilis and hepatitis B are infectious diseases that endanger human health and can be transmitted from mother to child during pregnancy through intrauterine infection, infection during delivery or breastfeeding, etc. This often causes fetal death, premature birth, or infection in children, seriously threatening children's growth, development and health, and may even lead to death.

What are the mother-to-child transmission routes?

AIDS: It can be transmitted through the placenta during pregnancy, the birth canal, and breastfeeding.

Syphilis: Transmission routes include placental infection and contact with lesions during delivery.

Hepatitis B: The main route of transmission is contact with the mother's blood or body fluids during delivery.

Can the spread of "Aimee B" be blocked during pregnancy?

The mother-to-child transmission rate of HIV is about 15-45%, and timely intervention can reduce the transmission rate to below 5%. The risk of mother-to-child transmission of hepatitis B is as high as 90%, but through standardized intervention, the transmission risk can be reduced to 1-5%. If syphilis is not treated, it may lead to miscarriage, stillbirth or congenital syphilis, and standardized treatment can block more than 99% of transmission.

When to conduct the three-item screening for "Aimee B"

Carrying out three screening tests for "Mei B" before pregnancy or in early pregnancy can detect and diagnose the disease as early as possible, and carry out corresponding mother-to-child transmission prevention in time, thereby minimizing the chance of the mother transmitting the "Mei B" virus to the baby and allowing the baby to grow up healthily.

The state provides free screening and treatment services to protect the rights and interests of mothers and babies

The National Health Commission (formerly the Ministry of Health) clearly stated in the 2020 edition of the "Standards for the Prevention of Mother-to-Child Transmission of HIV, Syphilis and Hepatitis B":

1. Provide free HIV, syphilis and hepatitis B testing for pregnant women.

2. Implement intervention measures on infected pregnant women and their children, such as antiviral treatment and vaccination.

These measures help reduce the risk of mother-to-child transmission and protect the health of mothers and babies.

Psychological and social support

1. Eliminate discrimination: People infected with HIV/AIDS have equal reproductive rights, and society should show them care rather than prejudice.

2. Seek help: You can contact your local maternal and child health care hospital or disease control center to get free medicine and consulting services.

3. Join a mutual aid community: Join a mutual aid community to share experiences and support each other.

Important Notice

All pregnant women: Be sure to complete the free "Aime B" screening in the early stages of pregnancy!

Infected pregnant women: strictly follow the doctor's orders for medication, have regular check-ups, and do not stop taking medication without authorization!

Family cooperation: Encourage spouses/sexual partners to get tested simultaneously to prevent cross-infection.

Preventing mother-to-child transmission of HIV/AIDS, syphilis and hepatitis B is not only a technological advancement, but also a transmission of love; it is not only the responsibility of every family, but also the responsibility of the whole society. Let us start with ourselves, and at the same time call on more people to pay attention and participate, and jointly promote the elimination of mother-to-child transmission of HIV/AIDS, syphilis and hepatitis B, and contribute to improving the quality of the population and making thousands of families happy!
