Hemorrhoids or colon cancer? Talk about the warning symptoms of colorectal cancer

This is the 5341th article of Da Yi Xiao Hu

Mr. Zhang is 65 years old this year. He lives a leisurely life after retirement. He likes to go fishing and play chess with old friends. Recently, he found blood in his stool. At first, he thought it was hemorrhoids and didn't pay much attention to it. But the symptoms lasted for two weeks, and he also had abdominal distension, abdominal pain and mucus and blood in the stool. At the urging of his family, he went to the hospital for a check-up and was diagnosed with colorectal cancer.

Zhang's experience is not an isolated case. The early symptoms of colorectal cancer are not obvious and are easily ignored. By the time they are discovered, they are often in the middle or late stages. Therefore, it is very important to understand the early warning symptoms of colorectal cancer.

Let’s hear what the intestinal health experts from Shanghai Health Care Center have to say?

The following video comes from the sampling operation assistant

Warning symptoms of colorectal cancer include

Changes in bowel movement patterns

If diarrhea, constipation, or both persist for more than two weeks.

Abnormal stool shape and nature

The stool becomes thinner, flatter, angular, or contains mucus and blood.

Blood in the stool

It may be bright red, dark red, or black and can be easily mistaken for hemorrhoids.

Gastrointestinal symptoms

Abdominal pain, bloating, indigestion, loss of appetite.

Abdominal mass or fixed pain

Feeling of a mass in the abdomen or pain, especially pain that lasts or gets worse

Unexplained weight loss or anemia, etc.

Lost weight significantly without intentional weight loss, prone to weakness and fatigue, etc.

It should be noted that these symptoms do not necessarily mean that you have colorectal cancer, but you should seek medical attention promptly when they occur, especially those who are over 40 or have a family history. Early diagnosis and early treatment can nip the disease in the bud and sometimes save our own health and life early!
