What if there is blood in the stool during pregnancy?

I believe that many people have found that they have the same problem, that is, when they defecate, especially when the stool material is hard and difficult to break, blood will appear in the stool. However, this is different from the presence of blood in the stool. The former may be a problem with the anus, while the latter may be a problem with the digestive system.

What is the cause of bleeding stool in pregnant women?

1. It depends on whether the bleeding occurs before or after defecation. And what kind of blood is there.

2. Blood is discharged from the anus in the stool, or the stool is full of pus and blood, and the color is bright red, dark red or asphalt road-like, which is called blood in the stool. The color of blood in the stool depends on the location of the bleeding in the digestive tract, the length of time the bleeding and blood stay in the stomach and intestines.

3. Upper gastrointestinal bleeding, such as gastrointestinal function becomes faster, can discharge bright red stools instead of tarry stools. When there is bleeding in the small intestine, if the blood stays in the intestine for a long time, it can be discharged as tarry stool; when the bleeding is heavy and discharged quickly, it will be dark red. In the case of rectal bleeding, because the blood stays in the intestine for a shorter time, relatively fresh blood clots are usually discharged. When bleeding occurs above the sigmoid colon, the blood and feces are often evenly mixed and appear bright red. When bleeding occurs from the sigmoid colon or duodenal anus, fresh blood often adheres to the surface of the formed feces. Blood dripping after defecation, which is not mixed with blood in the excrement, is common in internal hemorrhoids, anal fissures, etc. But most of them are similar to hemorrhoids, nine out of ten people have hemorrhoids.

How to treat bloody stool?

1. Since various anorectal diseases can cause bloody stools, a targeted treatment plan can only be formulated after the actual cause of bloody stools is determined.

2. For animals with hemorrhoids, drinking more water, eating more vegetables and fruits, and exercising more will be fine. If the condition is serious, you should go to the hospital for a check-up.

If you find that your stool contains a small amount of blood, don't be too anxious at first. Observe and see if this phenomenon continues. If it persists, you need to go to the hospital for a physical examination. If the stool contains a lot of blood, you should go to the hospital for a thorough examination immediately to avoid anemia caused by excessive blood loss.
