Many poisonous wild mushrooms have a clean appearance and look no different from ordinary mushrooms, so they are easily eaten by citizens by mistake. On October 28, the reporter learned from the Municipal Center for Disease Control and Prevention that some citizens in Karamay were poisoned after eating wild mushrooms. The wild mushrooms eaten by the citizens were all fleshy brown-scaled ring-stemmed mushrooms. It is reported that a recent poisoning incident caused by eating wild mushrooms occurred to citizen Zhang Yu (pseudonym) and his wife. While walking in the forest green belt of Baiyun Fourth Road, Guhai Street, the two picked some wild mushrooms and stewed them at home. After eating, the couple experienced nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, diarrhea and other discomfort symptoms, so they went to the hospital for treatment. The results of blood tests showed that the couple's liver function indicators were significantly higher than normal people, and they had varying degrees of liver damage. At present, the couple is under observation and treatment in the hospital ICU. "The wild mushrooms eaten by Zhang Yu and his wife are fleshy brown-scaled ring-stalked mushrooms, commonly known as 'flesh-brown-scaled small umbrella' and 'flesh-brown-scaled small mushroom', which is one of the common poisonous mushrooms in Xinjiang. The cap of the fleshy brown-scaled ring-stalked mushroom has brown to dark brown scales, white gills, and scales of the same color as the cap on the lower part of the stipe." A relevant person in charge of the Karamay District Center for Disease Control and Prevention said, "The appearance of this mushroom is similar to the non-toxic mushrooms we eat daily, and it is widely distributed, so the probability of being picked or eaten by mistake is very high. It contains highly toxic amanita toxins, which can cause acute liver damage poisoning. If not treated in time, it can lead to death. Patients who have undergone active treatment can generally enter the recovery period in 2 to 3 weeks, and all symptoms and signs will gradually disappear." Disease control experts at the municipal and district levels said that the best way to prevent poisoning from eating wild mushrooms is not to pick, buy, sell or eat unknown mushrooms. If citizens accidentally eat wild mushrooms and experience poisoning symptoms, they should seek medical attention as soon as possible. When seeking medical attention, they should promptly inform the doctor of their history of eating wild mushrooms. It is best to bring uneaten wild mushrooms or photos of them so that the doctor can determine the type of wild mushroom and carry out targeted treatment measures. |
