How to calculate the doubling of progesterone

How to calculate the doubling of progesterone

HCG doubling means that HCG is the main manifestation of growth. During early pregnancy, human chorionic gonadotropin increases, characterized by an increase in HCG. Generally, if today's HCG value is 1000MIU/mL, then tomorrow's HCG value will be 2000MIU/mL. On the third day, the HCG value will reach 4000MIU/mL. On the fourth day, the HCG value will reach 8000MIU/mL, and then it will increase to 16000MIU/mL, which is a doubling increase. Therefore, the increase in HCG value can be used to observe whether the growth characteristics of test tube embryos are good.

During early pregnancy, the growth and development of the test tube embryo can be observed based on the progesterone value HCG test. About 50 days after menopause, the fetal heartbeat and embryonic heartbeat appear. After the fetal heartbeat and fetal heart rate are normal, there is no need to test HCG and progesterone levels unless there are any special circumstances.

In the early stages of a woman's pregnancy, if the fetal sac develops well, generally speaking, HCG will show a doubling of growth, reaching its highest value around 8-10 weeks of pregnancy, and then will gradually decrease. In a normal pregnancy, HCG usually doubles every 2-3 days. Based on this feature, we can determine whether the fetal sac is developing well by testing the level of HCG. For example, if the HCG level is 500 now, a blood test 2-3 days later will show that the level should be above 1000.

In the early stages of pregnancy, because the gestational sac is relatively small, it cannot be seen by B-ultrasound. At this time, a blood test for Hcg and progesterone levels is needed to basically check the status of the pregnancy. If it is an intrauterine pregnancy and the embryonic development process is good, Hcg will double. For example, if the Hcg on the 1st check is 200, then the Hcg on the 3rd check should be more than 400, which is a doubling. If Hcg doubling is not good and progesterone is also low, then the possibility of ectopic pregnancy, incomplete embryo development in test tube, and threatened abortion should be ruled out.
