Analysis of the causes of itchy skin during pregnancy :

1. Physiological reasons: mainly due to the changes in the body's growth hormone and autoimmunity, which will cause some small papules to appear on the skin of pregnant women, causing itching.

2. Temperature reasons: Skin itching problems are more likely to occur in summer and winter. Because the summer temperature is cold and humid, sweating is more, it is easy to cause eczema; the winter weather is dry, the skin metabolism function is reduced, which will also aggravate the itching.

3. Environmental irritation: Pregnant women with allergic constitutions will develop red spots or rashes on their skin after being exposed to external irritation, causing itching.

4. Intrahepatic cholestasis of pregnancy: This is something we need to be alert to. This type of disease usually occurs in the second and third trimesters of pregnancy, and is manifested by itching, which usually starts from the palms and soles of the feet and gradually spreads to other parts of the body. The itching symptoms will persist, lighter during the day and worse at night. After the itching occurs, some patients may develop jaundice within a few days or weeks. The initial location is the retina of the eyes, the palms, the soles of the feet and other far sides of the body, which usually disappears within a few days after delivery.

The harm caused by this type of disease cannot be underestimated. It can cause premature birth, fetal distress, postpartum hemorrhage, etc. The greater harm is that it may cause the death of the fetus. Therefore, if pregnant women find that they have abnormal itching of the skin, jaundice and other symptoms, they should go to the hospital immediately for relevant examinations to avoid delaying treatment and seriously endangering the life of the fetus.
