Rescuing 4 patients with myocardial infarction, the average age was only 37 years old! They all have these 3 things in common

Just after October, four young people who suffered sudden myocardial infarction were rescued, and all of them had heart stents implanted. The average age was only 37!

Why do they suffer from heart attacks at such a young age? Doctors analyzed their conditions and found that they all had the following three things in common:

1. Smoking

Although they are young, these myocardial infarction patients have been "veteran smokers" for more than ten years, smoking at least 1-2 packs a day!

Studies have shown that the incidence of coronary heart disease in smokers is 2-6 times that of non-smokers. If you smoke more than 20 cigarettes a day, the risk is increased by 7.25 times! Even passive smoking can increase the incidence by 30%.

Because tobacco contains more than 10 kinds of chemical substances related to the onset of coronary heart disease, these substances will increase cholesterol and triglycerides, increase blood viscosity, damage the cardiovascular endothelium, accelerate the narrowing of atherosclerotic plaques, and even induce coronary artery spasm or generate blood clots to block the cardiovascular system, causing acute myocardial infarction!

Therefore, to prevent coronary heart disease, you must persist in quitting smoking, and the longer you quit smoking, the greater the benefits . After quitting smoking for one year, the incidence of coronary heart disease is reduced by half; after quitting smoking for 15 years, it drops to the same level as non-smokers.

2. High-risk occupations

Two of these patients were truck drivers. Modern medicine has confirmed that coronary heart disease is a physiological, psychological and social disease. The working characteristics of certain occupations can have adverse effects on the neuroendocrine system , thereby increasing the incidence of coronary heart disease.

People in occupations such as truck drivers and programmers who stay up late for a long time, have irregular work and rest schedules, and are in a state of mental stress for a long time will experience accelerated heart rate, increased myocardial oxygen consumption, hardening and thickening of arterial walls, and cause coronary heart disease.

Therefore, we must learn to reduce stress and adjust our work and rest schedules. This is not only to improve our spirits, but also an important way to prevent coronary heart disease.

3. Abdominal obesity

Without exception, these patients have a "big belly", also known as "abdominal obesity".

Many people equate weight with obesity, which is inaccurate. Athletes and people who exercise regularly may be overweight, but they have low body fat and high muscle mass, so they are not obese. By measuring the waist-to-hip ratio (waist circumference ÷ hip circumference) , if it is greater than 0.9 for men and greater than 0.8 for women, and the thickness of the fat around the belly button is greater than 2 cm, it indicates abdominal obesity. At this time, a large amount of fat has accumulated in the internal organs, and coronary heart disease will accelerate.

We must actively lose weight, especially control waist circumference. We can appropriately increase the proportion of protein in our diet, limit the intake of carbohydrates and fats, ensure the supply of vitamins and dietary fiber, and insist on long-term regular exercise.
