Intermittent uterine bleeding during breastfeeding

Intermittent uterine bleeding during breastfeeding

During childbirth, women will lose a lot of blood and qi, and they need proper medical care after giving birth to prevent the wound from bleeding again. Therefore, during the confinement period, women should pay attention to wound healing. However, some women find that they have bleeding every now and then after the confinement period, which makes them very worried. So, what is the reason for intermittent bleeding after the spike period?

Intermittent bleeding after the confinement period

Under normal circumstances, the lochia of the parturient will gradually disappear after three weeks. If there is still lochia in the fourth week or it suddenly appears, there is no need to panic. This situation is called persistent lochia.

Modern medicine believes that persistent lochia in postpartum women is a confinement disease, and incomplete uterine repair is one of the main reasons. However, there are many reasons why the uterus cannot be completely restored after childbirth, such as retained fetal membranes, incomplete detachment of fetal membranes, or combined endometritis or pelvic infection; or multiple pregnancy, old age, multiple births, relatively increased uterine fibroid tissue, etc.

If after one month, the lochia is still not clear, and is accompanied by a foul or rotten smell, or is accompanied by abdominal pain, fever, or there may be infection in the uterus, adnexae (bilateral fallopian tubes, uterus and ovaries), or vagina; if the amount of lochia increases day by day after delivery, the color becomes redder and darker day by day, or bruises appear, they are all abnormal conditions, or there is abnormal uterine bleeding, or internal and external injuries of the cervix and vagina, or infection has occurred. This situation should be paid attention to immediately. There is undoubtedly a pathological factor and you need to go to the hospital for examination and treatment in time.

It is recommended that mothers actively go to the hospital for a color ultrasound examination. Color ultrasound examination can show the condition of the uterine cavity. If the uterus is not fully repaired, it can be treated with medicine or injection, such as oral amoxicillin capsules and Gongxuening. If there is any residue, uterine curettage surgery is recommended. Mothers can also try taking the traditional Chinese medicine prescription Motherwort paste or ask a Chinese medicine gynecologist to see an objective Chinese medicine treatment.

Mothers also need to pay attention to hygiene, clean up once a day, wash sanitary napkins frequently, keep the body fresh, and get out of bed and exercise appropriately. Do not eat old brown sugar, jujube, rice wine, dried longan, wild turtle, firewood chicken and other foods that promote blood circulation and remove blood stasis within three months. Because these ingredients can increase the time it takes for postpartum lochia to clear.

Sometimes during breastfeeding, there is a little redness

First: The first thing to consider is whether it is a sign of menstruation. Suggestion: keep warm, drink more hot water and nutritious soups and vegetables, eat more foods rich in high-quality protein, egg white and iron. You have your period so early, so you should avoid nutritional deficiencies. Secondly, you should be aware of the possibility of pregnancy during your period. You should take good contraceptive measures, and it is best to get an IUD. Generally, you can choose March for a normal birth and June for a caesarean section.

Second: If you have not had a menstrual period since you became pregnant, and you are now seeing spotting during breastfeeding, it may be that you have returned home for your menstrual period.

Just solve it according to your previous menstrual period. Pay attention to rest and environmental hygiene. If it has already come and the interval is short, it is advisable to go to the hospital for a physical examination!

Third: Irregular menstruation during breastfeeding is also normal, because during breastfeeding, due to the increase of prolactin, the secretion of estrogen is inhibited, and the uterus and ovaries are not sensitive to the stimulation of pituitary gonadotropin. Therefore, under normal circumstances, there is no ovulation and no menstruation.

If you had your first menstrual period last month, your condition may be ovulation bleeding, and the probability of pregnancy after ovulation is very high. Pay attention to rest, pay attention to the hygiene of the perineum and the hygiene of the sexual life of the couple, use contraceptive methods during breastfeeding, maintain a happy mood, and avoid eating spicy and irritating foods.
