Canalys: Samsung ranked first in the global mobile phone market with an 18% market share in Q3 2024

According to recent news, research firm Canalys has released the latest global mobile phone market data for the third quarter of 2024.

It shows that Samsung is still the world's number one, with an 18% global market share.

Apple's market share is also 18%, slightly behind Samsung, and is already very close to the world's number one spot.

Analysts said Apple's shipments in the third quarter of this year reached the highest level in the same period in history.

Among them, the continued strong demand for the iPhone 15 series and Apple's older models played a key role.

Analysts expect the iPhone 16 to help Apple continue its strong growth in 2024 and extend its momentum into the first half of 2025 as Apple Intelligence expands into new markets and supports more languages.

According to reports, the Apple Intelligence feature will be launched on October 28 with the official version of iOS 18.1.

This is the biggest highlight of this year's iOS 18 and iPhone 16 series. It can deeply understand the meaning of language, support emails, memos, Safari browser, Pages documents, Keynote presentations and third-party apps, greatly improving the user experience.

However, it should be noted that Apple Intelligence will only cover US English in the initial stage, and the Chinese, French, Japanese and Spanish versions will be officially launched next year.
