Zhihu Financial Report: In Q3 2022, Zhihu's revenue was 912 million yuan, exceeding expectations, and its loss decreased by 39% month-on-month

Zhihu recently released its unaudited financial report for the third quarter of 2022. During the reporting period, Zhihu's revenue was 912 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 11%, exceeding market expectations; the gross profit margin reached 48.7%, and the net loss decreased by 39% month-on-month.

In terms of revenue structure, the C-end revenues from paid membership and vocational education reached 335 million yuan and 78 million yuan respectively, while the B-end revenues from advertising and commercial content solutions reached 197 million yuan and 265 million yuan respectively. In addition, other revenues including e-commerce and publishing reached 36.33 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 14.7%.

In terms of operating data, in the third quarter, Zhihu's monthly active users (MAU) remained at a high level of 97 million. The average monthly number of paid members in the third quarter reached 10.9 million, a year-on-year increase of 99.5%, and the penetration rate of paid members in MAU reached 11.2%.

Financial report data shows that Zhihu has achieved counter-cyclical growth despite the impact of the epidemic.
