A woman's uterus tilts backwards and tends to bend, which is medically known as uterine torsion. Uterine deviation is common among women, with approximately 20 of every 100 women suffering from it. Things to know about uterine crookedness: In most cases, uterine deviation will not cause infertility. Some women don't realize that they have a crooked uterus. Usually, a torsion of the uterus does not require treatment. What causes uterine crookedness? The uterus is a hollow, pear-shaped organ located below the female pelvis and is where the fetus grows and develops during pregnancy. The reasons for a woman's uterine deviation generally include: 1. Weakness of pelvic muscles. After menopause or childbirth, the tendons supporting the uterus become more and more loose, causing uterine tilt. 2. Enlarged uterus. Due to the influence of pregnancy and uterine fibroids, the enlarged uterus can also cause uterine tilt. 3. Pelvic scars or adhesions. As the pelvis can be affected by endometriosis, infection, or surgery, scar tissue can pull the uterus back, causing it to become crooked. 4. Genetic inheritance. Some women are born with a crooked uterus. Why does the cervix sag? 1. The working pressure in the abdomen is too high, such as excessive obesity, coughing with sputum, constipation, or compression by a tumor in the pelvis, which all increase the working pressure in the abdomen. Causes the uterus to prolapse. 2. Injuries during childbirth, such as prolonged labor and dystocia, can easily damage the pelvic floor muscles and tendons; getting out of bed too early to do housework during the confinement period, or doing heavy work too early. 3. Decline. Age and organ decline, coupled with a decrease in the female hormone estrogen, cause the pelvic floor muscles (PFM) to lose their support, and the uterine ligaments to gradually decline and shrink. 4. Pregnancy: it is the most critical cause of uterine prolapse. Generally speaking, women who have given birth multiple times are more likely to develop uterine prolapse. However, even in the first pregnancy, uterine prolapse is possible. Due to late pregnancy, mama's boy, dystocia and other birth injuries, the uterine tendons may also be damaged. |
