According to the latest report released by market research firm Counterpoint Research, the global smartphone market revenue in 2023 is about 410 billion US dollars (about 294.89 billion yuan), and Apple accounts for half of it. Data shows that global smartphone shipments will drop 4% to 1.17 billion units in 2023, but due to a 2% increase in the average selling price, reaching 350 US dollars (about 2,517 yuan) for the first time, the global smartphone market revenue will drop 2% to just below 410 billion US dollars. Among them, the average selling price of Apple iPhone increased by 2% year-on-year to a record high of US$890 (about RMB 6,401). The annual iPhone revenue reached US$203 billion (about RMB 1.46 trillion), accounting for half of the global mobile phone revenue. It is worth mentioning that Apple accounted for 20% of global mobile phone shipments in 2023, which means that Apple earned half of the global revenue with 1/5 of the shipments. The agency said that Apple has further promoted the high-end trend of smartphones, and by 2023, one in four smartphones will have a wholesale price of more than US$600 (about RMB 4,315).
