Apple could sell as many as 190 million iPhones in 2012, according to a survey conducted by AlphaWise for Morgan Stanley. The survey results show that Apple will sell 31-36 million iPhones in the fourth quarter of this year, which is 30% higher than the forecast of Wall Street analysts and higher than the 30 million forecast of Katy Huberty, chief Apple analyst at Morgan Stanley. Surprisingly, according to the survey results, consumer enthusiasm will be even higher in the first quarter of next year, with an estimated 41 million iPhones sold. Huberty also believes that Apple can sell another 15 million iPads in 2012, so Apple should reduce the price of iPad 2 by another $100, that is, the entry-level iPad 2 can be priced at $399. Morgan Stanley estimates that Apple can sell 52 million iPads (total) in 2012, but AlphaWise's survey results are much higher, at 81 million. Via: BGR |
