GlobalWebIndex: Google+ has 360 million active users in May 2013

On the evening of May 1, 2013, the latest report from Internet analysis company GlobalWebIndex showed that although Twitter is growing faster than Google+, the latter is still the world's second largest social networking platform after Facebook.

GlobalWebIndex released a report at the end of January this year saying that Google+ has 343 million active users, making it the world's second largest social network after Facebook, while Twitter has 288 million. Facebook still tops the list with about 700 million active users.

The latest report from GlobalWebIndex shows that Google+ currently has 359 million active users, a 33% increase from 269 million at the end of June 2012. During the same period, Twitter's active users increased from 206 million to 297 million, a 44% increase.

Facebook still tops the list with 701 million active users. Google said in December last year that 500 million Internet users have created Google+ accounts.
