Onavo: Twitter is only 60% of Instagram on the US iPhone platform

On the evening of December 18, 2012, data from data analysis company Onavo showed that Instagram's web traffic increased after Twitter was banned from displaying its photos.

Earlier this month, Instagram disabled Twitter's ability to display Instagram photos on its website and app, making it impossible for Twitter users to browse Instagram photos normally. Onavo data shows that Instagram's web traffic has begun to grow in the past two weeks.

Industry insiders said that the growth in Instagram traffic is not surprising, but when compared with the usage of iPhone users, the gap between Twitter and Instagram is obvious.

Data shows that more than 18% of US iPhone users use Instagram every day, while the proportion of Twitter is less than 11%. This is a big difference. On the iPhone platform, Twitter's scale is only 60% of Instagram's.

Industry insiders said that Facebook's $1 billion acquisition of Instagram was a wise move. Facebook announced in April this year that it would acquire Instagram for $1 billion, and the final actual acquisition price was $715 million.
