Hitwise: Survey shows Quora users are younger and richer

Finding answers on the Internet is not a new phenomenon. The demand for information search is a universal value for almost everyone, and services that are constantly updated and improved to meet this demand are also underway. Quora, a professional-oriented knowledge question-and-answer website, is one example. It competes with the traditional knowledge question-and-answer website ASK.com through answers from trusted experts. By adding social elements, Quora took off at a high speed. Compete data shows that although Quora does not have high traffic, it is very interactive. Compete also found that Quora's user graph is different from other sites. On Quora, the proportion of users aged between 25 and 34 is higher. Quora users are not only young, but also wealthy. Compete found that 27% of users have an annual income of $100,000, compared with only 17% and 18% of Answers.com and Ask.com users, respectively. This proportion is also 9 percentage points higher than the proportion of wealthy Internet users. Experian Hitwise's February 2011 survey found that people with higher education and potential for higher education are an important group of Quora users, with nearly 16% coming from major university cities and 9.69% coming from wealthy areas. Search is currently Quora’s largest source of traffic, which shows that Quora is a more credible site in Google’s search results. |
