Can young people also have strokes? Prevention and treatment of stroke should not be taken lightly

Stroke, also known as cerebral infarction, is an acute cerebrovascular disease. In many people's impressions, stroke is a disease that only middle-aged and elderly people will get. However, surveys show that 1/10 of stroke patients are young people. Therefore, young people should not be careless about the prevention and treatment of stroke. So how does a stroke occur? How can you judge whether you are at high risk of stroke? How can you save yourself and prevent it?

What factors are related to the occurrence of stroke?

There are many factors that lead to stroke. In terms of risk factors, they are usually divided into two categories: one is the factors that can be treated and intervened, including abnormal blood pressure, abnormal blood lipid metabolism, obesity, smoking and drinking, and arteriosclerosis that is not treated in time. The other is the factors that cannot be intervened, including age, gender, genetics, race, etc. We need to pay more attention to these factors that can be intervened.

How can young people determine whether they are at high risk of stroke?

We can self-check through the "8+2" high-risk population screening scale, where "8" refers to 8 risk factors, namely high blood pressure, heart disease, dyslipidemia, smoking, diabetes, obvious overweight or obesity, insufficient physical exercise, and family history of stroke. Among them, physical exercise refers to more than three times of physical exercise in a week, each time for more than half an hour, and this amount of exercise must be maintained for one year or more. If this intensity is not reached, it is insufficient physical activity. Of course, some people may engage in some moderate-intensity physical activities, and this type of people is also counted as having physical exercise. If 3 or more of the 8 items are met, you may be a high-risk group. "2" refers to a previous stroke or transient ischemic attack, which is the judgment standard of "8+2".

How to save yourself in case of sudden illness?

In fact, for ordinary people, the most important thing about stroke is to learn how to identify it and then rush to the hospital for diagnosis and treatment as soon as possible. Here is a way to identify "stroke 120": "1" looks at the asymmetrical face and crooked mouth; "2" checks both arms, one side is weak when raised; "0" means listening to and speaking, and slurred speech.

If you experience any of the above symptoms, you may have had a stroke and you must rush to a hospital immediately, preferably one with an advanced or primary stroke center. Open the WeChat mini program and search for "stroke emergency map" to display all hospitals with stroke centers. You can follow the instructions on the map to rush to the nearest hospital.

How should young people prevent stroke?

The first thing is to have a healthy lifestyle, prevent high blood pressure, high blood lipids, high blood sugar and heart disease in advance, drink less milk tea and carbonated drinks, avoid sitting for long periods of time, especially not sitting in front of the computer all the time, and be sure to do more physical exercise.

Secondly, we should insist on regular physical examinations, and at the same time, we must pay attention to the results of physical examinations. Some patients have had physical examinations for three years, but have never seen their physical examination results. They only went to see a doctor after the disease occurred, which delayed the treatment. Therefore, when the physical examination report recommends which department to go to for detailed examination, you must check it in time and be responsible for your own body.
